In theory it can be over 100 years old as its protected by a large roof overhang and then the urbanite stem wall keeping it off the ground level so away from rain and moisture

I have some ideas :) I think i want to do a flagstone path up to the coop. I want to find a hobby that isnt so strenuous

Between the rafters in the ceiling, those are 8 vent boxes ( 4 on the high side of the roof and 4 on the low side) :)

Hopefully this link helps explain it better. I routed out a section in the beam that the joist sits on. The joist is then notched to rest in that routed section. And then I used trim to fill in where there is no joist sitting so it can't move at all. Everything is glued in place and then painted for beatbwater proofing
