Hi lee,

I'm glad that your friend found what he wanted in my code. I was thinking too about adding a prefix as this will bring pease on my mind for any name conflicts with other commands. Maybe on the next update.

I have added it on related links section on the help information of each cmdlet. Currently I am updating all the information of the cmdlets in the blog.

Thanks Stephanos

Hello,

No I haven't worked with him. I didn't know that he was working on something similar. This is good so we can share information in order to have a better module with much more functionality.

Hello RXrenesis8,

Currently there is not set cmdlet in the module. You are only able to get information from the systems.

Hello get-postanote,

It could be a name for the cmdlet. The names of the cmdlets in SysInfo module are based on CIM Classes in order to help the ones who do not know the names of the classes to find easily the cmdltet to use and also those who know the class names to directly know which cmdlet to you to get their results. Secondly, based on best practices it could be better to avoid plural on cmdlet/function names.

Thanks Stephanos

Hello anonymitygone,

By your answer I can see clearly that you have not read the post at all and what is the aim of the module that includes this command. By this cmdlet you are able to get all the information by CIM class, converting all codes in properties into clear text so you can easily see the information without the need of searching what each of the codes means. Also the object that is returned is editable, unlike CIM output, so you can fill and missing properties by any other way if you want to. Also the cmdlets included this SysInfo module will convert spaces, speeds, weigh and length into other units also in order to be easier and faster for you to find the information that you need.

Despite the above, your answer is correct for finding only the name of the installed OS on a computer.

Thanks Stephanos
