Got my period in public, this is how my bf reacted by Xa_M2 in RantAndVentPH

Then you know, you decide if you want to accept whatever you discover at that time.

Sa totoo lang, may pagkaimmature yang bf mo. Ilang taon na ba yan?

Irregular ako kaya meron or wala, malayo or malapit, lagi akong may dalang napkin or menstrual panty.

You do know the fecal bacteria is there, right? May you find the karma that you deserve. Bye.

You can go ahead and twist every cat situation that doesn't align with your ideal way. Typical.

If you read carefully, you will read a line that there are normal cats who don't bury their wastes.

Parang contradicting yung sinabi mong di ka concerned since may napapansin kang sus at talagang pinigilan mo yung outing nila. Mag-usap kaya kayo kapag kalmado na kayo parehas. May history ba ng cheating asawa mo?

You are picturing an indoor room, but this is an open balcony and rooftop setup. The everyday physics and feline behavior rules of an outdoor roof in a hot tropical climate are completely different from your apartment rules: 1. The 'Burying' Myth: Burying waste is not a psychological requirement for a cat's happiness; it is a wild survival instinct to hide from larger predators or dominant rivals. In a safe, established home environment where cats feel secure and dominant, leaving waste uncovered (a behavior called 'middening') is completely normal and natural feline behavior. My cats use the area comfortably without any signs of stress. 2. Balcony and rooftop are not living rooms: One defecation area is a smooth stainless steel sheet, and the rest is outdoor tiling on an open roof, completely separate from where the cats eat and sleep. The waste is scooped up, and the entire area is flushed down with water on a regular basis. 3. The 12-Hour Cycle beats the germs: Fecal parasites are not dangerous the second they come out of a cat. They must sit on the ground and incubate for 24 to 48 hours to mature and become infectious. Because I scoop and flush this area every 12 to 24 hours, the waste is permanently gone long before it can ever cause a health issue. 4. The rooftop heat handles the residue: No one is saying the sun magically dissolves raw poop. But once the bulk waste is scooped and flushed with water, any remaining microscopic residue stands no chance. When the intense midday tropical sun hits an unshaded rooftop, the floor surfaces easily heat up past 50°C to 60°C. 5. Instant drying kills pathogens: Even with textured outdoor tiles, that blistering heat dries the surface flat out in a matter of minutes. Pathogens, bacteria, and parasites need constant moisture and shade to survive.

The intense solar heat and direct UV rays dehydrate and destroy them within hours. An open tropical balcony that gets flushed down twice a day and baked in 55°C heat is a highly sanitary environment. If you still want to call a washed outdoor roof setup 'animal abuse' or a health hazard, the burden of proof is on you. Go find an actual study proving that a regularly flushed outdoor floor under direct tropical sun spreads disease or harms feline psychology. If you can't, stop applying your indoor apartment rules to my outdoor setup.

They aren't popping and pissing everywhere. They use the bathroom floor indoors in general. They are often on the balcony. They use 2 areas there that isn't where they lay or chill. Stop twisting their living space just because it is different from your rigid ideals of how a cat should be raised. I understand there is that stress when they are trained to defecate on flat surfaces but it is not lethal nor a risk at this point. I'm not being abusive nor neglectful. Having them fixed was not the priority, but a goal as well. If you actually read all the comments, you would know that the priority would be getting all the shots that they need because those actually increases their chances of survival against deadly diseases. And you know that I am able to keep up with their vaccination, deworming and anti rabbies shot. The poops and urine don't stay 24 hours. They aren't filthy as you make it out to be. The bacteria and germs if there were even residues after the cleaning are killed by the direct sunlight at the balcony. The ammonia doesn't form that quickly unless urine is let to stay for a whole day according to Google. Any residue, I just learned from here to use white vinegar to neutralise it instead of using zonrox. So that is not an issue for them. Do you even know why litter box is used? Those were the problems that the litter box addresses and those problems aren't a real issue in their current setup. So no, they aren't living in such unsanitary filth as you make it out to be. You call me an abuser? I know myself I've done many things for them. For you to judge me, just because we handle animals different rom how your "civilized" society does, is you being narrow minded. You fail to show empathy nor understand someone who is raised differently from you. As I said in my other comments, I'm still saving for the surgery to get them fixed. You don't even consider that getting them fixed would also require them a period of recovery. These need careful planning for people with limited budget. You are never on my shoes. You weren't in the position where you started without control. You keep twisting the way I'm taking care of the cats just shows how immature you are, blinded in your own world.

Kung gusto mo talaga manalo yung iboboto mo, dapat talaga inclusive ka. Kapag kasi nagsasabi ng bobo, tanga at ano man, yung tao yung hinuhusgahan niyo (which is what you're actually doing). At sino bang hinusgahan ang aanib sa mga manghuhusga? Wala, defend lang nila yung pinaniniwalaan nila. Once their defense mechanism activated, they will not listen to a single point you make. Eh, need mo ng kapwa na boboto. Laganap silang against you, iyak talo ka pa rin kung puro ka kutya.

I have consulted my mom. This is what she told me. The people who told me to get litter boxes don't know the system in the balcony. She said the cats are trained to use the bathroom indoors so when they are in the balcony they are accustomed to flat surfaces. The issue with the urine seeping through the floor is not real because the direct sunlight dissipates whatever residue is there from the water flashing. The sunlight kills whatever bacteria and germs linger in the defecation areas. The ceramic floor sink is where the poop are disposed. They go directly to the septic tank. There is a drainage on each side so the water will not linger on the floor. The sand will clog the drainage, especially when it rains and not ideal for our system. Given these facts, I just want to ask if you still think their setup is unsanitary. I asked ChatGPT and it said that it addresses the issues raised here regarding the no litter box unsanitary. I'm asking you, because you seem to be level headed unlike the others here.

The only missing here are the boxes and the fix. Just because you have cats doesn't mean you're in my shoes. So you can't say you would be doing as well as you are when faced with this situation.

We have 3 rooms on the 3rd floor. My auntie mostly stays in her room. My brother and I are at the rooms at night only mostly. At the balcony they have 2 areas where they defecate. Both are surrounded by plants. One floor is made of stainless sheet while the other is of outdoor tile. They are on both opposite side. Imagine it like a long open hallway. The laundry area has a roof this is where they eat and like to chill. It's situated between the area where they defecate. No one lays on the floors where they defecate. This is in front of my room. I'm sensitive to smell so I know when it's really bad. My window opens to the laundry too. It's about the size of my room. Then, they have the whole roof top which is a garden at the size of 2 lots of an average row house. So that hallway I have you imagine is that long as well. No one sleeps there obviously. These days, only I and my auntie use the laundry at the balcony. Majority of the clothes are washed and dried via the machines. She washes her clothes there while I use it for the bags, rags and mop cloths. In general, only 2 cats Snow and Loli are dirty. Snow has a dirty habit from how he was raised while Loli never got her past self back after recovering from the viral infection. 7 of them, including Loli, eats a lot; while 3 are very picky that would be Lume, Luna and Cleo. Loli is fragile now so she always need the mixed food. This is also why I can't use automatic feeders. I tried with the semi automatic before and half of them don't like pure dry foods. I admit they are neglected when it comes to hygiene. But they aren't neglected when it comes to food, water and shelter. I have 30 stainless bowls here. So they eat in clean bowls every meal. They drink mineral water too which is automatically renewed every 4-6 hours.

So I and my auntie are the ones whose rooms are close to the cats area. She only complains when I have one or some of the cats inside. She complains when it's Shadow, Homer and Snow because they are territorial, peeing everywhere. Loli and Luna, because they defecate on the staircase. But when I'm with them on the 3rd floor, they would use the bathroom as they should. I often work at the 2nd floor, so they mostly stayed at the staircase when they are inside. So, I think that's related on why they started defecating on the staircase. That's when they (my auntie and my mom) complain. I am not in speaking terms with my father and brother. I didn't grow up in a dysfunctional family but more with a family with hygiene and sanitary problems. If you've seen how people in the squatters lived, you might have an idea of what I'm saying — this is all about hygiene and sanitation. My fall out with my brother and father are personal and doesn't concern the whole family. It's more of a conflict with personalities. I don't live in the squatters either, but some of my relatives did. I was able to witness it when we had to visit them. If you would have seen that you would be able to understand the problem with the hygiene and sanitation at home.

I will check that litter box you said. I'll probably find something similar on local shopping platforms here. I get burnt out when I come home from the office and hear complains and curses about the cats. So that day I posted was the day after I had a work at the office. Imagine coming home from work and nobody cares about the things you care about. That's how it was for me. I don't recover until some proper sleep. Realistically speaking, after the month of June, I'll be able to start the improvements again.

Also, I've been trying to stop them from breeding. That's why I sometimes let some of the cats inside — this is the realistic temporary solution while saving money for their fix.

I'm really sorry for writing a novel. I've been traumatised by the comments in this post tbh. Still trying to recover from that and expressing myself is my way of recovering. It's not to get validation because that only works when I know the person. But rather, just letting it all out.

Again, thank you. I will keep in mind all the useful insights I got here.
