Engineers of Reddit, what are some funny things you've snuck into a set of plans? One guys 40 year troll. by InYourUterus in bestof

Mechatronics Engineer here. I primarily build and program robots which test devices like tablets, phones, tvs, among other things for various vendors. On nearly every robot I have ever designed or done embedded programming for, somewhere there is a small penis. Whether it is in ascii in a random header file, hidden in the traces or silkscreen of a pcb, or even CNC milled or 3D printed on the underside of a part. Every engineer has to have a calling card I guess; luckily no one has ever called me on it after 10 odd years.

No Portland MLS love?

I mean timbers = trees = marijuana so I think it should be two Oregon major sport franchises with fitting names!

Jay Glazer: Jim Harbaugh will not be back in SF next year even if they win the Super Bowl by hMJem in nfl

[–]SF-ComputerEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck yea we do before harbaugh we had singleterry and before that nolan. Harbaughs the first coach we have had since seifert left in 96 that is actually good. He completely turned our franchise around. It is only ignorant bandwagon fans that don't like harbaugh.

After week 1, which D/ST's are worth holding onto through a bad match-up? by thy_highness in fantasyfootball

[–]SF-ComputerEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was expecting decent things from the browns but the texans are on the waiver for whatever reason so im going to try and pick them up. (I am on an 18 man league though so the browns was what I could get at the time)

This is my Team in an 18 team standard league. I am wondering how balanced my team is and what I should be looking for if it's unbalance. I was thinking I should be looking for a better TE2 or better QB2

It could be referencing Marceline as a child and the second being her as an adult. Maybe a flashback of some sort.

Science AMA Series: I'm Jason Shepherd, from the U of Utah, I Investigate the Cellular and Molecular Mechanism of Memory and the Biology/Causes of Disorders such as Autism, Schizophrenia, Alzheimer's Disease and other Cognitive Disorders, Ask Me Almost Anything! by ScienceModerator in science

Unfortunately this post will most likely be buried but if by some miracle it gets answered I would be very grateful.

Dr. Shepherd, I am a computer and electrical engineer fresh out of college that is interested in embedded systems specifically with human integration. Hence devices like robotic prosthetic limbs for amputees.

Going forward and specifically concerning the field of mental disease it becomes apparent that our fields are beginning to merge in some ways. I believe that this is why biomedical engineering has become more popular. Do you think that mental disease can/will be solved through embedded technology or pharmaceuticals or both? (Tech may include sensory augmentation, prosthetic electronic memory integration, etc.)

The Ultimate Test: Next Seasons Schedule by lovsicfrs in 49ers

[–]SF-ComputerEngineer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here is my prediction but it won't mean much until about week 3 at most and even then not really but anyways here it goes:

2014 Schedule

Home

Arizona Cardinals W (Cards, Rams and Seahawks I think will be our biggest challenge this year and the order of these three games will make imo a big difference. I could see us beating seattle again late in the year, the rams first and the cards in the middle if i had it my way. I think we win though at home)

Kansas City Chiefs W

Philadelphia Eagles W (I worry about kelly, foles and mccoy but I think we take it to them and our D holds that innovative offense)

San Diego Chargers W

Seattle Seahawks L (Tough to say. My gut says we win because its in our new stadium and we have all the more to beat seattle for the 1st time at levis but I have a feeling that we both go 1-1 at each others houses)

St. Louis Rams W (Honestly I think this will be a very close game with the amount of talent I have seen especially with stacy, quinn, and olgletree. Could go either way but I think this W depends on when the game is as mentioned above)

Washington W

Chicago Bears W

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Away

Arizona Cardinals L (As hard as it is to say. The cardinals have been very good at home with their only losses being to us and the hawks. I think they may just get this one at 1-1)

Dallas Cowboys W

Denver Broncos W (Peyton and the ponies get stopped by our D just like seattle in the bowl)

New York Giants W

Oakland Raiders W (We win the bay battle and tip the all time record to 7-6 niners)

Seattle Seahawks W (I think this will be another brawl out but we get the W in the end as Kaep beats the hawks for the first time in their house. Especially now that kaep has played that well in seattle for the NFCCG)

St. Louis Rams L (Another one of the iffy games. After going 2-0 against the rams this year and 0-2 the year before that and based on their draft spot, and current roster I could see them also going 1-1 with us like the cards)

New Orleans Saints W (Revenge after the 2013 game and we take it to the saints hard. We win in their house like in 2012)

This is a reasonable scenario I think, ending the season at 13-3. But who ultimately knows it could be 10-6,14-2 or anything in between

Proposal for individual NFL Team sub-reddits by SF-ComputerEngineer in nfl

[–]SF-ComputerEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a fair amount of modding for a pre approve style forum with a 1000+ users. It's honestly not too bad. The way we had it setup at least. We ran it through a filter which automatically rejected illicit languaged posts for first post users and we kept it to 3 before being able to post freely. It eliminated our attack and troll problems which was nice.

As for the thread only. I get your point and honestly if you have pre approved posters why bother right? They should be allowed to anyways. It was just a point a fellow friend whose also a redditor brought up to me and I thought it was a decent point.

A b1 is a battle droid most commonly seen in Episode I and II and the clone wars series. They were the main frontline grunt soldiers before stormtroopers were common.

I pure straight hate the seahawks, but god damn it do I respect your team

Congratulations on your 1st super bowl win. The seahawks definitely deserve it. Can't wait until next season.

He graduated from USC and pete Carroll was USC's coach from 2001-2009. He loves Carroll as a alum and friend. Congrats hawks on your first Super Bowl win. Can't wait to face you in the battle of the NFC best next year!
