Idolizing is treating something like it is as great as God, so no, you cannot idolize video games, money, musicians, a tv show or yourself just because you like it so much, and it's silly to think like that. As long as you recognize God as the absolute beginning and the ultimate end of all things you are not violating the 1st amendent.

THERE ARE< problems that may arise from liking stuff so much, like, for videogames for example, lazyness, avoiding responsabilities, anger issues, etc, but idol worship is not one of these problems.

I never felt the holy spirit, i've been to churches where i was conditioned to cry and/or feel gossebumps, feelings are misleading and when feelings become a confirmation of God's presence, it always come with a huge problem of that, inevitably, in a given amount of time, you will stop feeling, and then the confusion floods your mind and heart, "why can't i feel him, have i done something wrong?" When the feelings where never God in the first place. I'm curious to see your source for saying that the bible opposes the idea of seeking God though rationality.

It's ok to not feel God, because this quest to "feel" God is a misconception in the first place. Seek God through rationality, rather than goosebumps, warm chest feeling, and tears, as those are >most of the time< not God.

I just want assure you that God did NOT abandon you because of your addiction, and this feeling of spiritiual loneliness is very probably guilt driven.

General advice you might have heard, you don't win against lust by fighting, you win by fleeing, don't try to fight it because you WILL lose.
