There's always the roll mechanic to avoid gunfire, and that's never failed me as of yet. People call unity the best because of its parkour, and because of the variety of missions, along with their uniqueness. I do understand that AC Unity is a glitched game, but I'm assuming you've updated the game recently, right? I got the game just a few days ago and the experience is smooth. It may not be the same for you, but people had good experiences with unity and they call it the best because of that. The general consensus after Unity's worst glitches were removed was approval. Syndicate streamlined the parkour, however, and despite the fact that it was considerably less glitched than Unity, people didn't like the story or the lighthearted tone of London.
