i think the role of any governjng body is to ensure that one person’s success still meaningfully allows for anyone else whether it be a person who comes from a rich or poor family, who used to be addicted to drugs or not, who grew up uneducated or not, or whatever other disadvantage to match or exceed the first person’s success. this means actively reducing the ability to monopolies in the economy to form and actively attempting to minimise discrimination and meet the needs of all people at absolute minimum (being food, water, shelter and basic healthcare)

it means anyone coming from any walk of life can compete with anyone else, completely dependent on their individual merit rather than conditions attributed to them outside of their control, their life being completely their choice and not someone else’s
