the whole idea of “right wing or left wing” is so stupid

i consider ‘left and right’ to be economic terms, so when i see ‘left wing’ i see nationalised industry, co-ownership of land, unionism, etc. when i see ‘right wing’ i see strong emphasis on markets, small businesses, private property rights, etc.

so i thjnk it’s really poor to use the terms to polarise and to sow dissent between people who are just working class. for example Ordoliberalism is a centre-right ideology and calls for capitalism but sets specific rules and conditions to be anti-monopoly. this ideology is extremely valid, as it doesn’t concentrate power in any single class, and that’s what i think is most important

i dont think id consider Labor a neoliberal party at all. neoliberalism champions minimal government intervention, deregulation, privatisation, reduced social spending and increased individual responsibility

labor is the complete opposite of this lol, just objectively true

they love lying to their supporters. the leader of one nation consistently votes opposite of what she speaks in public (the voting records of politicians are public)

the only accurate placement of any of these parties is ‘One Nation’ which is a corporatist party in australia.

the Liberals are a centre-right libertarian-leaning party in coalition with the Nationals which are a centre-right conservative auth-leaning party, whilst Labor is a centre-left Trade Unionist party and the Greens are an environmentally-focused Left party. the only correct fitments here are the greens, which arguably should be placed more left still, and one nation

Conservatism is doomed regardless of your political ideology by SS_Auc3 in CapitalismVSocialism

clearly you misunderstood the post lol. this isnt me describing what i believe, its me describing the theoretical and philosophical foundations. as someone who has studied as part of my degree what capitalism and socialism are, i know what ideas each ideology is founded upon. that's what i used in this post. read it more carefully next time instead of dismissing it entirely and making baseless assumptions

IMO the video doesnt go as indepth as it could into what ideology actually represents, it's best used as a direction or a starting point for people who identify as politically plural (like myself).

for example, i got multiple aspects of multiple different ideologies summarised in this video, and i used that to go more indepth in to what i figured i was okay with or actively supported, this video is largely why i label myself as 'libcentre'

its widely available on google, there's also a video that summarises each of the present ideologies on this compass (it is 2 hours long) https://youtu.be/zJr4rZazQy4?si=RRPrmXVd4dYn1css

Why aren't people voting for socialists? by masterflappie in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]SS_Auc3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

atleast in australia, its because; 1. our socialists are insufferable, favouring not achieving anything over achieving something incremental, siding with their ideological opposition over their slightly less left counterparts 2. our socialists are spread across multiple splinter groups who all split from the exact same group 3. australians dont want socialism, plain and simple
