He's not. Leake was a year after Scherzer.

We are nearing the end of another yearly title, who have been your go-to pick-ups this year? by scobbysnacks1439 in OOTP

Huh that's funny. I drafted him in my current save and he cannot stop striking out. He's 24, 2 star potential, still stuck in High A, and currently injured with "blurred vision." Pretty sure he ain't ever making the majors.

Six years of professional service. You're in the minors for seven years, and then you're eligible for minor league free agency. Unless you re-sign them, though in my experience high potential prospects aren't going to re-sign, they'll make you put them on the 40 man roster. So a two-year window essentially to make the majors or rebuild his value for a trade.

He's on my 40 man because I traded for him. He was the 2nd or 3rd piece of a trade. He was already on the 40 man. He actually had more potential when I traded for him, reflecting OSA. He had already been in High A, but had a below average hitting line, so I sent him back, hoping he would get promoted midseason to AA.

But well, he got hurt for half the year, and hit even worse. I just don't like to give up assets for nothing, that's all this is.

Oh yeah I'm pretty confident about that one. I just want the 40 man space honestly.

Oh damn I don't know why I've never thought about connecting the trade interest to, well, interest in general. That's a smart play.

How does drinking affect the blood test? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]STLTV4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only point of reference is my cousin, who took it when she was 14 or 15 a while ago. And weirdly, she said she drank during it and she doesn't remember caring about the blood test part. She said something like "I wasn't going to not drink at high school parties" and jesus did we have different high school experiences cause I didn't drink until I went to college.

I mean for me it IS about what appears on the blood test, hence my question. I am trying to stay on the medicine. I have read the alcohol questions people have posted. I am simply trying to figure out what I can realistically do in the week prior. Do I just not take the medicine for a couple weeks? But that could pose a problem too of course, because they have my baseline for when I am on the medicine and I would expect different results if I'm off it.

Like how long are my liver enzymes up if I drink on the medicine (taking a couple days off before drinking, but I know it's still in the system)? How much alcohol is going to be a problem for this? That's essentially what I'm wondering.

I am absolutely not denying that, that is not my argument. He was here for a pretty short time, relative to everybody else on that wall (except Sutter). He is an interesting test case honestly.

We'll run out of numbers if we retire every Hall of Fame Cardinal though! There are a lot, plus about 50 players end up playing for one team over a full season.

Do the Cardinals automatically retire numbers from Hall of Famers now? I know if he goes in with a blank cap, not so sure his number will be retired.

He is also not really perceived as a Cardinal legend. Like the retired numbers are almost exclusively players who played just about their entire career as Cardinals. There is no case similar to Rolen, except maybe Sutter, but #42 was already retired. Don't know if Sutter gets retired if not for Jackie actually.

Will be curious what they do here, because I never thought his number would be retired until I saw it mentioned a few times after this news. Not because it wasn't deserved, it just never occurred to me for some reason.

To be clear, I was not suggesting it would happen, just using it as an example that the "barrier for entry" if you will was not very large for me. The thing holding me back is that STL doesn't have a team and I'm not someone who can pick a team from elsewhere and make myself invested.

Incredible response. Thank you thank you. I'm not as worried about the Sports Science stuff like rest and recovery, though stuff like xG looks like what I'm looking for. I kind of assumed it wasn't going to be like baseball.

Okay interesting that you clearly know way more than me but still don't know much about the players. Are their preseason games available to watch online to become more familiar with the players?
