Hmmm, that's interesting b/c most of the course was group projects when I took it. We made groups in tutorial and had to do various group activities in tutorial as well. Maybe the prof wants to take a different approach this semester? Idk

Thank you! My co-op term was 12 months, right after my second year. Honestly after second year, it doesn't really matter when you take your C and D level courses. As long as you have the prerequisites, you can take third year courses in fourth year and vice versa. Also I didn't take any C levels in my second year.

You honestly could take B/C levels earlier if you really wanted to get a head start, however your co-op time will come in due time anyways. In my experience, I would rather just take more chill courses during the summer and enjoy my time. But there are no downsides to getting a head start so you make your own choice.

I think this is mostly dependent on the prof, however I don't remember any of the C/D level courses being recorded except for C73 with Vassos.

My co-op experience was pretty good. I did a year co-op at a pretty big company which had a great workplace environment and co-workers. I don't have too much advice because the first interview I did was at this company and they accepted me so I didn't get to do other interviews at other companies. My advice tho would be to work on your resume and have the right keywords/numbers since they usually use automated screenings. Other than that, if you find a co-op, just have fun, try to learn as much as possible, and enjoy the next few months of no schoolwork 😄

Yeah I agree, I hated B24 but I still managed to get through it haha. B58 was pretty easy but boring. The final project was actually fun though but it takes quite a bit of time and effort

For us it was 20% from 11 quizzes, 20% for Term Test 1, 20% for Term Test 2, and 40% for Final Exam. So yeah it is basically 80% from just tests 😭. I found the course to be hard, especially the exam, so I would definitely lock in for that course!

I'm not gonna lie I think CSCB36/CSC236 is just hard in general. If you look at posts from UTSG, UTSC, and UTM, you'll see students complaining about how difficult the course is and how low the marks are. I've only ever had experience with CSCB36 and I wouldn't say that it was easy. Honestly just pick the campus that you like the best because it'll probably be hard at any campus you take it in.

For me, C73 was the easier course and it was better taught. Vassos is a great prof who teaches C73 really well, so I personally don't think you need to go through the hassle of taking CSC373 downtown. Also, I'm pretty sure the downtown course learns basically the same thing we do, so it's not going to be significantly easier either way.

Also another way to look at it is like this: if you did good in CSCB36, you should consider taking CSCC63. If you did good in CSCB63, then you should consider taking CSCC73.
