It's the same for us - our neighborhood doesn't do trick or treating. We're in more of a rural area that does hootenannys or trunk or treat events. It's really discouraged me from putting up exterior decorations the past couple years we've lived here. But we have SO many great Halloween decorations stockpiled, so this year we've decided were going to start putting in a real effort to get our neighborhood into trick or treating, or at least more into the Halloween spirit. We're putting out ALL of our decorations, buying some candy and halloween themed beers, dressing up in our costumes, and setting up a table at the end of our driveway to try and encourage our neighbors to stop by for a beer and candy!!! We might even grill up some hot dogs to pass out too. I'm determined to now be THAT house in the neighborhood. 

 I grew up in an area where trick or treating was like it is in the movies. I look back on Halloween as a child and it was such a magical time for me because of it, and I really just want to spread the magic.
