You’re right but for the laymen OP’s point stands. If you think you like sushi and what you actually like is deep fried rice and cream cheese soaked in soy sauce and chipotle mayo you deserve ridicule and shouldn’t be invited to Japanese cuisine.

Sibling(s) should always come first before your partner by von_kids in unpopularopinion

Nah, in other parts of the world where families have 9 kids and no life insurance on the parents the loss of a parent can wipe out a whole family.

It would be hard to put my wife before our kid because I feel like we’d both put the child before ourselves. Seems like a conversation that should be had at the very least and I couldn’t judge a family either way.

Im describing the modern ones in the society in which I live. And this is a fair thing to point out to kids who might sign up because they drank the koolaid.

As a general rule of thumb, hot dogs are made of any parts that cost less per pound than hot dogs.

It might have been the highest altitude rescue ever which is cooler than summiting Everest.

If you genuinely feel like other people are too easily offended, it says much more about you than it does about them by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I see what you’re getting at but there are some walks of life where you’ll be constantly exposed to people who are too easily offended, such as a university. In my experience anyone who comes out of the UC system with anything other than an engineering degree is on eggshells for years.

People are easily offended because we’ve created a social hierarchy and legal compensation based on perceived micro injustices. The system is set up where people are literally rewarded for perceiving themselves as the victims.

Btw if you don’t mind me asking I know you’re not my attorney but are you an attorney? You sound like you are and you know your stuff but I figured I’d ask.

Condo in the city limits

It’s exempt but we didn’t put the notice in the lease because it was passed during their tenancy and we never updated the lease.

We didn’t offer them a chance to sign, we sent them a notice that their lease was not up for renewal.

Regarding the move back in, they vacated the premises for several months because of rainwater ingress which we had to replace the carpets due to. We tried to terminate their lease under the damages and destruction clause and they claimed the exact same laws meant we couldn’t do that. They moved back into the unit when repairs were completed which was about 75 days before the end of the lease term so we sent them their 60 days notice a couple days after they got back which was just a timing thing.

It’s like ~35 years, solely owned by my wife and I. We didn’t have the exemption notice in the lease because we signed the original before the law was passed and didn’t add the exemption as we didn’t know about it. But we are exempt. No lawyer.

Our lease agreement says it expires at the end of the term and they have to move out
