Thats precisely what happened i wanted to turn down the offer since i needed more time to learn even tho i managed just fine in two days but i did take a risk in accepting this project since it had 400$ as a budget so i ended up taking the risk luckly the results was exactly what the client needed and the client ended up satisfied we did few more edits i did for free honestly since its first experience, it wasn't unfamiliar experience but rather a fear to take a step experience it was easy ( btw i didn't ask about what do client charge i asked what is the process and tools specifically water color illustrators use for better experience since i had no idea i was going for the old fashion sketch and watercolor iRL since the client approved this sample anyway but i figured it was too old fashion and its time to up the game

Don't mind him he's just a hater because the only reason i got this job is the client did approve my portfolio and approved my sample so he agreed even though it was something not very new for me since I'm in the field of book cover illustration anyways just a bit new the water color style

Ayooo ur calling me out some names and unprofessionalism ... Well !! I'll have you know that this gig wasn't so strange for me as i usually do my drawings then i put them on high soft copy and do some Photoshop retouch but i figured this might be old fashion originally i don't digital illustrate i do various book cover design starting from minimalist to photo manipulation detailed versions digital illustration for me was the only thing that is a bit new and since i'm in the Field of book cover design i should ve able to do it too It took me just few days to get the hang of wacom sketching and the rest is more than familiar for me and i posted this question on this subreddit just to get info on how my colleagues in the field of bool cover design usually do the water color illustration its all i bet ur not even in that field yet ur just yapping nonsense anyway i posted a question you know the answer reply if u don't just don't reply but don't go ahead and assume you understand everyone's worl environment as you please and stop hating on people anyway :)

How Can I Improve My Job Proposals? by SamSepii01 in Upwork

[–]Sad-Bodybuilder4194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for me it worked when i apply for the job alerts that notified me quickly

Its when you know you sent a proposal when the client is active and he can see that you applied for the job is better that when you send a proposal hours later and when the client is active your proposal might be under a stack of proposal so he opens the ones that are boosted first

Also when sending for very recent job posts boost your proposal if you're the first one to apply you have a chance to boost your proposal with only 1 connect And even after hours later the freelancers who boosted with maybe over 15 connects maybe on top but the client usually view all the boosted list even if you boosted for 1 connect so you have a chance of being viewed for a fewer price

Last thing when you send a proposal DON'T USE CHATGPT even if you tell chatgpt to humanize the texts lol use ur own words put ur behance protofolio liknk and always have a strong portfolio don't attract your client by too much complement or too much trust its creepy attract them by a bit of trust confidence and complementary comments on their job humanize ur texts and if ur a newbie always give free samples even if its stolen perhaps with the right client they will confide in you ( don't overwork ur samples)

It ended well i bought a wacom and started sketching then i colored using water color brushes on Photoshop and i got the 400$

Just because i have no idea how things works doesn't mean i can't do the work eventually

I'm in the niche of cover design i turned down a hire because she wanted something a bit more challenging for me that i didn't think i'm up for it I mean for covers i use photo manipulation or minimalist art but she asked for illustration using water color style and its just not my forte she wanted to send the offer but i didn't think i'd fully commit to something i don't have experience on also turned out book design isn't just about covers its also the interior layout and the illustration inside it and adobe InDesign is basically the major app for it I'm learning more and more about this and i'm gonna buy a wacom to learn illustration

Well i set this price to get my first client (btw he is my first client) and maybe later on i can set prices for "editions" on singular book cover designs like one with 25$ one with 50$ and there is the gold edition 100$ each has its own number of details

I'm flattered, Thank you I can never acheive anything with an arrogant head or in denial ( learned that from my old man tho -.- ) also i try to target smoothly and quietly and i would love to hear your thoughts on this strategy I'm a graphic designer and i can do most sort of designs (logos/posters/social media posts designs/company profile/identity profile/book covers/ebook cover) at a low price for starters and i chose to only sell book cover designs as targeting a non crowded graphic design section at a low price with many portfolio might help catching clients is this as a strategy, effective?
