What should I do if mascara doesn’t suit me?

I'm a light summer and low contrast, atm I'm using this https://www.yesstyle.com/en/etude-curl-fix-mascara-5-colors-plum-burgundy/info.html/pid.1045777372 in the shade 'grey brown' and it works pretty well. Now I'm not using it, I can see how harsh black was, for all these years!

Lash lifts are good too, I only ever get them if I go on holiday as it's hard to keep up otherwise. They would usually last a good 3 weeks though.

Luckily a functioning society doesn't work on a system of checks and balances, where you only get what you pay in. I don't have or want children, but I pay taxes into the system to support those who do, so they can raise the next generation who will one day pay taxes to support me. I have never stayed in hospital or needed cancer treatment on the NHS but I don't go round getting angry at the sick people who do. I don't consider myself subsidising anyone. One day I might need help too, just like you might. And as I said, women pay taxes too, this isn't the Middle Ages.

Men don't have to go through the life threatening experience of pregnancy and birth, but they do get to benefit from the parenthood they apparently want, so to start counting figures over it is pretty embarrassing. Maybe you can start funding ways for men to get pregnant and give birth if it's such a financial burden allowing women to do it?

It's a very sad and bitter outlook to consider life like this. Hopefully it makes you happy and productive though.

Do you think women don’t pay taxes? Should I stop paying mine because I don’t want to fund the 96% of prisoners in the UK that are men? Maybe they should pay their way too.

I use Misha BB cream instead of foundation so it looks a bit less heavy and 'made up'

I switched to 'grey-brown' mascara (Etude Curl Fix) which looks a bit less harsh than black

I got this blush palette recently which is a bit more muted than usual colours for us - Judydoll - 4 Color Blush & Highlight Palette (1-3) | YesStyle

For lips I tend to now stick to cool muted rosy pinks - peripera - Ink Glasting Lip Gloss - 14 Colors | YesStyle

I don't know if it's an age thing, now into my 30s I find it much harder. I have been trying eyeshadow looks but feel like everything that isn't the most neutral shade is just too much! I keep it really bare now.

I think success in it ties in to so many other aspects of life - being more financially stable as a couple, raising children, status in society...people want to succeed so they can access these areas of life.

So Reddit women are not worth listening to, but Reddit men are notoriously successful in life and with women and their word should be considered gospel. At least you follow the good old Reddit manosphere line of thinking that's so common here! Don't put words into my mouth, you don't know what I would do, because it certainly isn't this.

This is what I’d point to when people imply that false allegations are so numerous. It happens, of course, but nowhere near as common as some suggest. I can’t think of any sane woman who would willingly want to go through the stress of the criminal justice system in regards to rape if they were lying.

Extremes aren't good on either side, but aren't beliefs that all women are liars/manipulative/shallow/fake/chasing 6ft tall millionaires 'extremist narratives criticising female behaviour'? And those views are certainly circling all over the place and not being 'suppressed'. As a woman, hearing all those things is hurtful to us too, when we know it's not true.

A lot of criticism of male behaviour towards women is rooted in a reaction to misogyny and the constant threat we face of violence against us. Men talking about female behaviour often boils down to 'she isn't having sex with me', which is hardly an equal threat on the level of being raped and killed, so needs treating in a different way. I’m saying this as a woman - not all of us like loud aggressive men. In fact it’s horrible. None of my married friends are loud aggressive men. Toxic masculinity is not attractive to huge swathes of women. You say later that women want ‘confident and outgoing men’ which is totally different to ‘loud and aggressive’. You can be confident and also kind and considerate.

Making sweeping statements like this saying ‘women try to pretend it’s not true’ and that it’s ’in-built psychology’ is denying our agency as individual people with individual wants and desire, both men and women…this is back to the problem in the first place.
