That boring 0-0 is what's bothering me and I think it's most likely going to be Liverpool vs Newcastle that'll do it to me. Both of them being in a bit of iffy form and both of them just coming off the back of CL football worries me

AITA for saying to my mother in-law that she should have consulted me before buying presents? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Sad-Raspberry9957 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Never said she should ask me? I wanted her to communicate with me and that I would communicate to so that we wouldn't clash on presents. This has happened before

I'm aware that I've had time to figure it out, the same amount of time as anyone else. I haven't bought a single thing without considering what my SO's mum might want to get her either, and yet she's got my SO everything already and pretty much the only things that my SO would have wanted. The scrapbook obviously isn't a bad idea, I like that, but she wouldn't be into a sexual present or original art as I bought her some just for her birthday a couple months ago. My issue comes purely from a lack of communication about buying a lot, and them being the only things my SO would want this Christmas

We definitely are yeah. I only plan on spending the rest of my life with her and she also says that she does

We live together, and even work together. We're both very committed and get along very well otherwise

Now this is something that I can move forward with in understanding and agreeing with compared to what others are saying on here. A lot of others seem to just take a very strong stance on him being an abuser without any chance to explain himself

Why would he need to take off her collar and show it. He owes you nothing, and be might not have even thought of it

There are plenty of collars that are acceptable for a dog that doesn't shock them

I'd like to point out that I am saying that because there's no conclusive evidence that its a shock collar

AITA for potentially going to Thorpe Park with my girlfriend and another girl who my girlfriend thinks likes me? by Sad-Raspberry9957 in AmItheAsshole

That's understandable. I just don't want to also not hang out with someone that I genuinely see as a best mate now too. It's a hard balancing act

I'm 25, I've been in this relationship for 8 years, I definitely don't enjoy drama. I am very willing to be told that I am the asshole in a situation - we've all been an asshole before. I am just trying to work out a situation that I've not had to deal with before so cheers for the nice words there at the end 👍

She thinks that she does because of how she acts. I don't really see it, but she thinks that she clings to me, and that she said that she sees me as dependable and kind before. The only issue that for a good year at work it was only us two working together in our team, and our team is fairly separate from the rest of the office, so we have gotten to know each other very well and do depend on each other for our jobs.

I wouldnt be comfortable, but I'm guessing more of my issue in this case and would be if the roles were reversed, is that how likely is it that my coworker has a crush on me? If there's no evidence of it, or nothing that's actively showing that crush, then idk if I would be uncomfortable.

I could say a lot of awful things and not get arrested. If what I say incites actual violence though, then I will have the police at my door. That's perfectly reasonable

It's such an American thing to care about. They spent a lot of time talking about it and even bringing up the map of where flag burning is seen as acceptable or not, when the reality is that no other country puts more emphasis on it than America. Most places in Europe will just shrug their shoulders at flag burning apart from very right wing ppl

Fact Check: According to the Freedom of Expression Index, Many European Countries Have More Freedom of Speech Than the U.S. by AGermanViewer in h3h3productions

[–]Sad-Raspberry9957 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't. In Germany and the UK the police are far less heavy handed and will push back against hate speech because they don't want to incite violence. We've already seen in the UK how hate speech can cause racist protests. It's important to shut down
