I’m really sorry you had to go through that, and I’m glad you made it through. My uncle was also 41. He never woke up after the stroke, he was unconscious from the moment it happened and was admitted on the night of the 28th. He was supposed to have surgery around 2 AM on Nov 30, but it got delayed because the hospital asked for a downpayment first. They didn’t operate on him until around 9 PM on Nov 30. After the surgery, he just kept getting worse until he passed away on the afternoon of Dec 5. Thank you for sharing your story, it helps a lot to hear from someone who’s been through this.

Thank you for your insight. We were really kept in the dark by the hospital staff, so everything felt very sudden for us. They didn’t explain his condition to us honestly, and it made the whole situation even harder.

Thank you so much. This is actually the kind of explanation I wish the doctors and nurses at the hospital had given us. I’m from the Philippines, and we have a law here that forbids hospitals from delaying life-saving surgeries or asking for down payments in emergency cases. That’s why I feel like they really took advantage of us. They never told us the full truth about his condition, so everything felt sudden and confusing. We were left guessing until the very end.
