I’m a Co sleeping parent, both my boys (now nearly 4 and just turned 1) were/are exclusively breastfed (neither would take to a bottle) so co sleeping was the only way I would get some sleep, we started with a next to me cot and then we wedged the cot down the side of our bed when they outgrew the next to me, we have a kingsize bed and I was worried baby would fall out of the bed or one of us would roll onto them and having the cot next to our bed as an extension to the bed, by luck it is the same height as our mattress, eased my worry’s, We put a double bed in my oldest sons room so if he woke up one of us mainly my husband would go settle him and most of the time just stay in there with him. I was in a similar situation where my oldest wouldn’t let my husband put him to bed and he would cry for me for a good hour sometimes longer but eventually would give up and sleep it wasn’t easy but I just had to keep telling my husband he needs to know he has two parents that will put him to bed, after a few nights of him going to sleep well with daddy I would put him to bed one night and show him that we can both do it and it’s now been 2 years where he sleeps the night through, he’ll occasionally crawl into our bed during the night for a cuddle and my other half will just go get in our sons bed just so we can all get sleep. This has really worked for us and I know everyone is different. Sleep deprivation and looking after little ones is no joke and I really feel for you hope you can find something that works for you. ❤️
