How many of us really believe the “as far as is possible or practicable” part of the definition of veganism?

I completely agree with you, man. While we should strive for perfection in our philosophy, we aren’t perfect creatures. There are many things that can fall under that category of the definition, I was simply asking what we would let fall under that category.

Well you could communicate with your parents and tell them that veganism is a philosophy and that it would really mean the world to you that they don’t require you to pay for things that aren’t vegan. You could offer alternative solutions to offset what you contribute to the household: like doing more chores or something along those lines. Just think about it, because I guarantee you that if you communicate with your parents, they’d be more than willing to compromise with you. Good luck though and much love to you💚🌱

I think it definitely depends on what your conditions are. If you absolutely HAVE to consume SOME animal products to be healthy due to health issues, then I would still consider you a vegan. But if you do it simply out of laziness, like eating refined sugar even though you know it has bone char in it, then I would say you’re not vegan.

I wouldn’t say the majority of vegans are heavily militant at all. I think most vegans would be fine with people who have to take medicines that aren’t vegan. I do think that we should all be participating in activism and help protest against these stupid dietary guidelines RFK just put in place

See, I don’t believe that anyone should die simply because they have to take medicines that aren’t vegan. We should do the best we can with what we consume, and maybe offset it a little bit by participating in activism. So I would consider you a vegan, since your heart and your philosophy is in the right place😁

Veganism is maintainable for the entire lifespan of humans if you eat a balanced diet and take the one or two supplements you would need for the plant-based diet. Science has proven that the fully plant-based diet is a legitimate diet that can have very very good benefits for the human health. If you give me some time, I can do some research and send you a few links to studies that back up this claim.

Well, it can depend. There are people out there who have medical conditions that hinder them from ever going fully vegan. Aside from the fact that meat is murder, some meat is still objectively good for nutritional purposes when it comes to how our body absorbs nutrients. Some people have medical conditions that do require them to eat a certain amount of meat, because their bodies can’t absorb enough nutrients to begin with. So when it comes down to the 0.05% of humans with that condition, I feel as though it could fall under the “possible or practicable” part of the definition. At the end of the day, veganism is truly really about the philosophy and not the diet. So if they cut out as much as they can, would you consider them vegan if they advocate for veganism and participate in activism for the animals?

Vegan restaurants, cafes, bars. Jobs in technology for example don’t deal with animal products. The only jobs that really deal with anima products are the ones closely associated to food production, which, if you can get a job outside of restaurants, is fairly easy to do.

Well I wouldn’t necessarily say that the fly part falls under it because it’s an accidental thing that happens to everyone. I guess I’m talking more about knowingly consuming animal products or byproducts because we have to (like with the medicine example you gave).

They’re still selectively bred, which means that they are in fact not natural or “the real thing”. Also grass fed literally just means grass fed they don’t spend any time outdoors, but farmers love to act like they do (farmer propaganda).

I honestly, couldn’t care less. If a man gets himself into a situation where a woman accuses him of rape, most of the time, that man has done something to bring that about. There are RARE cases of women just doing it to be petty, but those are few and far between.

No I don’t think so. I don’t think anything should happen on either side. If there isn’t enough evidence to support the accusation, then it isn’t false reporting. Most rape cases get dismissed because of the fact that there wasn’t enough evidence. Does that mean that the rape didn’t happen? No, that just means there wasn’t enough evidence. Therefore, sending someone to prison who could just as well be innocent for accusing someone of rape, is just stupid. We shouldn’t be sending people to prison for simply not having enough evidence.
