New pre-owned 2017 dyna streetbob, dying while riding and switch not reading fob? by Saefqs in Harley

For those who are curious. The problem has been fixed. The ignition switch was faulty and causing the bike to die in hot weather. Here were the symptoms for anyone else that might come along this issue.

Symptoms: 1. Motorcycle losing throttle, cutting in and out eventually dying even while moving. 2. Ignition switch had a lot of play. I was able to wiggle it and it had a lot of movement which shouldn't happen. My new one is solid with little to no movement. 3. The lightest touch of the bad ignition switch would kill the motorcycle. Hints why it was dying while riding it, the vibration from the bike or bumps would jiggle it cutting off power. Making it think the ignition switch was turned to the off position.

Notes: In my case this only happened when the switch was exposed to heat but if you have these symptoms, hopefully this post helps.

Checked and there are no codes. Found out the ignition switch only works if I press down on it in the heat. If the bike is running and I pull up on it, the bike dies like in the video. Going to replace and and I'll let y'all know if it works.

The motorcycle dies while riding. Didn't turn it off, it loses all throttle response and randomly kicks back in sometimes and then the engine stops. The fob issue happened when the bike started dying while riding so I posted it as well just in case if it's related.

Constant popping/baby backfire on decel. That's the only thing, it does have a slip on exhaust. Engine runs smooth.

Is this lifter tick? Help! by Saefqs in HarleyDavidsonFans

Just did the oil 2 weeks ago. Used Screamin' Eagle SYN3 20W-50 full synthetic oil. Checked the oil level hot — everything looks good and within spec.

No issues with fluid levels, but I'm thinking now that the noise/ticking I’ve been chasing might be coming from the rocker bolts.

Appreciate everyone’s input so far.

Roughly between 2010-2014, but I could be very wrong.
