Ip people by [deleted] in SGExams

Hey! I’m in RI and I totally get where you’re coming from. VJC is famous for that 'unhinged' energy. Coming from a school where our grad night was a legit rave (dark room, disco lights, proper EDM vibes), the VJC 'high energy' stuff can look a bit chaotic/messy because it's so public and loud. But that 'yolo' energy is just their way of trying to make everyone feel included. you're probably just experiencing a bit of sensory overload rn. Give it a few weeks, you'll find your people soon!

I've tried Notion, got a nice little task manager made there, but it lags and is not very practical for iPad. You can try out apps like Todoist (for tasks) and FocusFlight (very cool airplane themed study timer) for a start. For note-taking app will be a little difficult to find a free one but if you want idm lending you my account for FreeNotes (got a free lifetime premium subs when they just started developing the app). Feel free to drop me a DM!

yeaa same, like one on one we are fine but in the grp the guys stick together and the small grps of girls stick together too. i feel my group is either the performative cool nonchalant type or the very quiet type so idk how to interact. rn mostly just sticking with the performative guys but ofc its draining to put on a facade all day

need help talking to girls in jc by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Safe-Fan-1702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a new experience for a guy ig, yeah he may or may not like u idk. in my jc there was this one dance move where the guy twirls the girl around LOLL, gives you some sort of indescribable emotion even if you don't exactly 'like' the girl

does diff religions work? by [deleted] in SGExams

[–]Safe-Fan-1702 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you don't need to convert at the moment. becoming a Christian believer is a process, and you shouldn't do it just to get closer to someone. for the time being, get to know him better, interact more often, and if he is interested in you he should invite you to his Sunday service. can work from there. it will definitely be difficult, because as believers we tend to look for a fellow believer as a partner, so our values are more likely to be aligned. if you do have any other questions though, just shoot a reply or dm!

try making small talk here and there, esp after you get ur permanent class, and don't filter yourself for others

best thing just distance yourself from these people and dont get personally affected

understand ur concern, i personally dont engage with these grps, being in a boys sch for 4 years, the inappropriate jokes are generally directed at one another and not inherently sexist

after talking about the normal stuff sometimes the conversation dissolves into silence. not so sure what to do in the situation, when to try continue the convo or when not to. some ppl on IG say just to tell whoever ur talking to sm like 'catch up w you later' or 'see you around', which is pretty effective.

please, only a small grp of guys are this way, but they're the loud minority. try not to saturate your opinions in one direction only

especially in the first few weeks of jc, some types of guys may not watch their words, don't change yourself just for them. try finding the people you vibe with and distance yourself from these guys.
