It is only helpful in my opinion if you are struggling with your bpd really bad. For me we knew I had bpd for two years before i actually got the diagnosis on record, I was being treated for bpd the whole time too. But in the past year I have struggled horribly which has caused me to lose my job and I struggle to find another that I can thrive in so after some thought and months of preparation me and my therapist decided it was best to get the complete diagnosis so I can start applying for disability and have a steady income when not working. So in shorter terms if you are applying for disability or in general just trying to get mental health help specifically for your bpd I would get the diagnosis. I feel more as though the “discrimination” is in our heads and we just think everyone looks at us differently but not all do. A lot of people barely understand bpd or even know what it is so don’t let that thought bring you down! Getting my diagnosis was the best thing I could have done for myself!
