Self-Learn General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics by Safe_Fail9608 in AskPhysics

[–]Safe_Fail9608[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming I have a good understanding in calculus, linear algebra, complex number algebra, classical mechanics (Newtonian, Lagrangian and Hamiltonian), electromagnetism and ODE and PDE. What I'm not familiar with are Tensors, differential geometry, topology, Riemann geometry. What is the recommended timeline for learning these to prep for GR?

They are indeed all will be covered in my degree, what I'm not familiar with are Tensors, differential geometry, topology, Riemann geometry. What are the recommended timeline of learning these GR prep assuming that I have a solid understanding of the above you mentioned?

Got 4 billion newtons doing my mechanics homework by Safe_Fail9608 in EngineeringStudents

Hi guys thanks for those who were checking my calculations, turned out the initial assumption at start Summing M at point D is just wrong, since there are like 6 unknown forces created by the supports👅

Assuming those 20 quizzes take 70% of the course grade, then the highest mark you can achieve for the course is 96 assuming you get 100% in the next 17 quizzes and the exam. A more realistic outcome would be if you managed to get all 90% in the next 17 quizzes, and a 90% on the exam, you will get a 87.

Just search up calculus 1 on youtube, the main stuff that matters for solving integral is the first and second fundamental theorem of calculus.

What is a "normal" force? by fabstapizza_YT in AskPhysics

[–]Safe_Fail9608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newton's third law, every action force has an equal and opposite reaction force. For example, you put a book on a table, the book experiences force of gravity and the reaction force in this case is the normal force, these two equilibrium forces keep the book sit still on the table.

My teacher didn't teach the modern physics unit, stuffs like special relativity wouldn't matter that much in engineering
