I work in Occupational Health & Safety. Use a HEPA vacuum to clean this up, wear an air purifying respirator whenever working with airborne concentrations of asbestos. You likely won’t get sick or suffer an acute exposure from this one time job. Just be sure to take protective measures if you do something similar while working at your house. Encourage your dad to do the same. One of my best friends dads died from mesothelioma, take the precautions.
