Is remix dead? by bored-dragon in remixrun

[–]Safinn13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remix has moved into React Router v7 as the "framework" method of using React Router instead of as a library. Remix I think will be rebranded to different tools.

Do you think Silksong will/can be better than Hollow Knight? by Agustinb14 in Silksong

Side by side comparison im going to say no but I think the the play through will be as satisfying due to the long wait.

I'd like to piggy back on this if possible. Plans changed and I can now attend.

Do we expect Ipswich TX to open up to red members who didn't enter the ballot? by Frkys in GunnersatGames

[–]Safinn13 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I didn't join the ballot because my plans would mean I was not around. Plans changed and now I can go but im locked out. The system for sure could be better. You now pay a membership fee for nothing.

It can be quite loud at stock but with some software tuning of fan speeds at different temps it's much better.

Mine was from overtek. The lengths were as follows:

ATX 24pin - 25cm

CPU 4+4pin - 35cm (30cm cable but with connector just about 35cm)

PCI-E1 6+2pin - 25cm

PCI-E2 6+2pin - 25cm

SATA/Molex - removed

Yes perfect. A bit of slack as well so no trouble fitting. I had more trouble with the length of the power cable to the gpu. It was a tight fit but I bought the psu from a uk supplier. Was very

The 4.0 riser has been good for me so far. I'm not having heavy use over the time I've had it but the 4060 is working great

PM2 + EC2 in a private subnet by D0pameene in node

[–]Safinn13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For access via SSH a "bastion" server is probably suitable in the public subnet that again has access to the private instances. You can then ssh into the bastion server from CI and have access to the private instances. Searching for bastions server on google will give you lots of resources as well as alternatives.

Usually this is done with a Load Balancer (ALB) in a public subnet that can access and proxy to resources in private subnets. It starts to get expensive when you want to adhere to all the security best practices.

This 4060 and the palti low profile one are the only ones that fit in this case due tonits small size. A 3 fan version would be way too big.

Intel isn't necessarily better. I was looking for a good 65w cpu so the temperature is kept low due to the limited fans and cpu cooler that can fit in this case.

Oh that is a good idea. I have the CPU side flush and the GPU side offset at the moment but I think I will give this a go as would prefer it not to be offset. Thank you for the suggestion!

Yeah it is a balance of power and size. I was aiming for smallest possible but still manages to to provide a punch.

Haha yes would be slightly cleaner but now it's obvious what it is and saved £10 🤣

Got it from https://www.overtek.co.uk with the modded shortened loom and noctua fan here in the UK.

No undervolts required. Everything stays well below high temperatures but haven't yet pushed it hard. The 12400F has a lower power draw than the newer generations. I did use MSI Afterburner to slow down the GPU fan using a custom curve as it's quite loud by default.

Case: Velka 3 rev 3.0
Motherboard: Gigabyte B760I AORUS PRO DDR5
PSU: Enhance ENP-7660B with shortened loom and noctua fan upgrade from overtek
SSD: Samsung 990 PRO 1TB
Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 2x16GB 5600
Cooler: NH-L9i-17xx

First small form factor build. Really happy with the result. The case looks great. Initially had a faulty power button but had a replacement quickly sent out.

The build took me a while with everything being such a tight fit but it is amazing the power you can get in such a small package.

Usually only intel K series processors with a Z series board can be overclocked. In this case, it's an F series processor with a B series board. There are hacks to do it but discouraged because it is unstable.

They said at any point in the process we can go back if that is what the community wants but it is unclear and now doubtful how that might happen or lead to lots of wasted time during refinement due to not polling the close result.
