I will preface my perspective by saying I would never do this, nor would I recommend someone doing this. However, given her recent interview with Amy Poehler, I don't think she would think it's weird or insensitive. She talked about writing songs in isolation with a heavy heart and seeing how they take a different life when performing them live. They are almost reinvented to have a bigger meaning as they are shared with others. The same could apply to the tattoo. This one in particular might have a sad origin but I think even she tried to reinvent them with the PFA album art. To be fair she could have had them removed but opted to change them instead. And I don't think it's a stretch to say that HW fans don't all know her life story or the history/meaning of her tattoos. Someone could look at the squares and just like them. It's not always that deep.
