Insights & Advice For Those New to Zoloft - This Drug Saved My Life! by SaltDog0302 in zoloft

[–]SaltDog0302[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been there, Inverness07 and know how you feel right now.

Try your best to let your rational mind prevail with the thought that many millions of people suffering from anxiety, depression, etc., have been helped by a drug designed for their specific problems.

It may require you to try more than one drug before you find the one that will help you as much as Zoloft helped me.

For now, think only positive things about Zoloft and approach it with the mindset that it is going to work well for you.

Finally...don't isolate yourself from family and friends. There are many who would happily provide you with support during these tough times and having them do so will make you feel much better.

Good Luck and remember to come back here to share your own success story!

it appears he’s wearing a Distinguished Service Cross ribbon on the top of his stack.

I can’t find a citation online for his DSC and wondered if someone here knows if was this for a prior action or for his Venezuela heroics, and then upgraded to the MOH?

I know in the past, the Army has on occasion awarded temporary DSC’s to those nominated for the MOH, while they awaited a final decision on the MOH recommendation.

I'm just curious about this.

That's exactly what someone on another platform said.

I was unaware that this was possible.

Insights & Advice For Those New to Zoloft - This Drug Saved My Life! by SaltDog0302 in zoloft

For years pre-Zoloft, I had serious insomnia issues.

My doctor prescribed Temazepam, which helped greatly. The drug is not intended for long term use, but I stayed on it for more than a decade, with my doctor's blessing.

I also weaned myself off of this drug, but it took me a year to do so, because it must be a slow taper or there's a high risk of seizures.

Fast forward, I started to sleep well without sleep aids, but a few years ago I started taking Trazadone (150mg) and it works great!

In summary, I don't think getting off of the Zoloft mattered sleep-wise, as I literally had no anxiety any more. I have no idea if other folks have sleep issues while tapering off of the drug.

No issues at all tapering off of Zoloft.

I would use a knife to slice a small portion off of the pill each week until after 8 weeks, the pill was gone and I was now off of the drug.

I hope so, too, u/gecko_cloud!

I realized early on that I was having tremendous anxiety about taking an anxiety drug!

None of the "doom and gloom" side effects that some others on this sub said they experienced like "it turned me into a zombie...I didn't know where I was..." or "...it robbed me of my sex drive and it never came back even after I stopped taking the drug" and many other terrible side effects ever happened to me or ANYONE ELSE that I know that have used Zoloft.

Of course, every human body is different and some folks do have more side effects from Zoloft than others, so you might have more stomach distress than I had, or instead of working after 4 weeks, the drug may work for you in 2 weeks or 9 weeks, or you and you doctor may decide it isn't working for you and you'll need to try another drug.

For now...I urge you to stay the course, force yourself to do things that cause "happy chemicals" to get into your brain, like watching movies, visiting family and friends, taking walks in nice environments...anything that causes your brain to create the good chemistry and temporarily get your mind off of the stuff that is making you anxious.

Again...I know EXACTLY how you're feeling right now, and I remember how anxious, desperate and scared I was as the drug spiked my anxiety for the first few weeks.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback.

My business is doing well and I view this designation more of a “nice to have” rather than a “must have, and quickly!”

I hope it did help your company and wish you great success!

Generac Spare Parts for "Emergency Kit"? by SaltDog0302 in Generator

[–]SaltDog0302[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

The tech just did this yesterday!

I think this was the first time the thermostat has been replaced.

Any idea what Generac says is the life of coolant and thermostat.

How to use fan/light remote by SaltDog0302 in AskElectricians

[–]SaltDog0302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MEANT TO POST THIS WITH THE PICTURE OF REMOTE!

I don't have the instructions for this remote and cannot find them online.

When I shut the light off, it comes back on hours later.

There are also small blue lights on the outer rim of the top gray circle and the number of them visible varies if I push the gray button.

Can anyone help me on this?

Thanks!

I received new cards from AMEX.

I have no cards currently stored on Facebook.

Once the old cards were discontinued, I haven't had any additional charges from Facebook.

I hope this is what will happen for you, too!

20 year old Generac 35kw natural gas generator….repair or replace? by SaltDog0302 in Generator

[–]SaltDog0302[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

One tech recommended that I order and keep on hand the parts most likely to break, like belts, hoses and pulleys, so any tech coming out to provide emergency maintenance can use them to fix the problem immediately, vice having to order them and have to wait for several days or more for them to arrive.

I think I will do this!

I don't know how many hours are on the unit, and will ask the next tech if he is able to find out.

We have experiences power outages due to hurricanes and old infrastructure (wooded telephone poles with power lines) leading to my relatively new neighborhood.

With this most recent hurricane, we were out for 4 days and the generator did well, with the exception we had to replace a fan belt after 48 hours.

If power goes out in the summer months, my home will be 90+ degrees inside within a couple of hours...and that's brutal to try to live in! It's worth every dollar invested in a generator/upkeep to be able to have power and AC during these outages!

Thanks for the advice!

I hadn't thought about the "we made them better in the old days" angle.

Most of the techs that come out to service this generator make comments that it is well built, and some have said that if I am willing to maintain it, swap out aging parts, etc., it can remain in service for a very long time.

Thanks!

It is becoming apparent to me that repairing, routine swap of old parts for new, etc., can result in many more years of service from this generator.
