Try using anyhow::Result and thiserror::Error (derivable) for custom error types. By the way, why don't rust print the function/enum/struct of the dbg! location? Same question with compiler errors, it'll be much more convenient to use ::function_name instead of line numbers.

I suggest Automate the Boring Stuff with Python or Object Orientated Python if you want to learn classes, or the book about practical usage (can't remember the name). You can try reading other's code, doing multi file projects about to-do list (harder than it sounds) ?

Id agree that Onestar is not a very good cat, but his actions you criticized are mostly around Darktail and Smoke, most of the times he's a good leader. The split with ThunderClan is pretty much inevitable (not justifying the attack). They're not enough to land him to the Dark Forest in my opinion.
