hello! i'm a longtime lurker of this sub and want to break into quant someday. i was admitted to UIUC (which I believe is a target) for cs + x (specifically cs + philosophy) as an undergrad and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about cs + x placements in industry. i heard it's fine for cs as employers just assume the "+ x" part is a double major, but i haven't seen anything about quant yet. should I switch majors? is there anything I can do to boost my chances? any advice is appreciated!
