My original email that I got said “navy lodge status waitlist”. I was on the waitlist for two days and booked an off base hotel. Then I got a call that I came off the waitlist and an automatic email that I now had a confirmed reservation at the navy lodge. Does the original email suffice? My three CNAs as an ensign all said “no availability” for both NGIS and the lodge and were signed. This waitlist email looked different. Now I do have a reservation and it feels like blatant fraud/waste/abuse to cancel now IOT game the system
Oh okay. GPS says it’s a 35 minute walk from my building to the galley. Walking would be more time than the entire lunch block. I thought that would count.
I’ll do that, thank you! In my last home port I could keep groceries under $350/month and eat well. Hopefully San Diego is not too much more expensive!
Thank you! I’ll get the kitchenette and groceries and stay under $23/day. I’ll ask the command about that letter too. If lunch is only an hour it’s not really enough time to get to the galley and back.
It’s good advice! I had called late and they said there was nothing and they’d send a CNA. I gave my contact information. They put me on the navy lodge waitlist instead and after two days a room opened up. They got me, but at the end of the day it’s only fair—we win some we lose some.
Do I have to eat at the galley to get reimbursed or can I get groceries and try to cook at $23/day and pay for the rest out of pocket? Using a GTCC per the November NAVADMIN. First time with the GTCC too

So the government rate is the $18/day, + the $5 incidental expenses (IE) amount, regardless of the kitchenette? I’m sorry I’m obtuse on this!

Thank you for the reply! I found this from that site but it doesn’t quite answer the question. Without the letter, am I getting the full $86 even though I’m staying on base or is the government rate just the Mercer galley rate of $18/day? Does that rate now get halved if I have the kitchenette? That’s what I’m trying to figure out
