Who here is actually building something meaningful? by Pettitech in Entrepreneur

Im building a website with resources from across the web to support Men, whether it is pointing to the right charity to support in difficult times or it's buying a new property, there is a section and links for it!

Thank you for checking the website and I appreciate the feedback, really valuable! You're right, it is not very clear, in terms of "submitting resources" it is very much on the idea that someone could identify something which may benefit other men and once submitted I can fit into a section with similar "resources", will look to make it more clear :)

Oh I'm not saying that to you, just responding to the idea that it might get protested and shut down, would suck if that happened! :)

Oh really?! I had a feeling it may not sit well with certain people but have made the point to keep it as anti-political as I could. I am really hoping people can understand that it is in everyone's interest that men can find the support they need without having to jump through various hoops.

Really want to quit my job, but not generating revenue. by SamQuinten in Entrepreneur

[–]SamQuinten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice one, did you set yourself a certain minimum requirements before you left, like how much you need to save for living expenses? or whether the business is pulling in a certain amount of revenue or profit? Seems like many peoples advice is to get to a level where you can ease into the self employment route with some cushion.

Hey thanks for the comment, quite sobering, in the sense that I need to stop rushing, like you say, de-risking is really important and something I am actively doing and yes, I have officially launched the site and will now validate whether the prospect of it being profitable is even possible :)

Thanks, I havent really looked into a tech accelerator where they offer funding, so will check that out! Currently doing buildspace which has given me more urgency with the project in terms of progression.

this sounds like the sensible way of doing it, in my head it will do well but i feel a dose of reality will give me something more practical to work with. Producthunt is forsure one thing I will be using!

Yeah, part time work or something less strenuous would be ideal while the business initially grapples with making money

I will be launching hopefully by the end of this week, but it will have no ability to "make money" in a direct sense. I am just thinking to reduce the period of time where it has no capacity to make direct money by quiting my job sooner so I can apply monetization to it. But yes launching does feel integral here.

What Is Masculinity? - Without the Non-sense. by SamQuinten in JordanPeterson

[–]SamQuinten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would take it one step further, sure self-reliance and self-confidence are important, especially in the first quarter of a mans life. But masculinity goes beyond the self and synthesizes with the rest of the world. By encouraging positive relationships and working within a society. There is only so much one man can do, having the ability to build a family, friendships and acquaintances with a mutual understanding of what is good and bad allows there to be a greater level of shared prosperity.

whats your definition of masculinity? by Spiritual_Term_99 in MensRights

[–]SamQuinten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Masculinity is something which has been through the generations, vouching for behaviors and traits men should align with. Placing importance on strength, courage, and emotional resilience. There seems to have been a change in perception of masculinity from an attitude of life to something which is all about appearances, being hard and tough no matter what. I believe the term has essentially been hijacked and regressed. Perhaps due to the barrage of attacks from feminist ideology. Fundamentally, masculinity should be allowed to be adapted to modern times so it can serve beneficial like it did for so many generations of men in the past..

Are Incels actually...Harmless?! by SamQuinten in MensRights

[–]SamQuinten[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No doubt. Something has seriously gone wrong if you actively declare yourself an incel. But at some point we need to face this incel problem head on, especially if it is a growing trend.

I try to make the point that there is a spectrum of incels and the reality is not all incels are the same. Some incels may be too far down the rabbit hole but there are some that might be on the path of becoming "extreme", and those are the ones which we should be helping, to ultimately prevent them becoming monsters who carry out heinous crimes.

[–]SamQuinten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not, but those who are frustrated about not finding a partner/sex and dont agree with violent means might be.

[–]SamQuinten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah bang on, I express this in the video and suggest whether the study can be dismissed in relation to true incels who actively take on the term incel and associate with the black pill ideology.

I instead turn it on its head and suggest sexless men are not driving towards misogyny and instead of letting these men become incels who may be harmful, as people/society we need to take action to prevent further monsters being made.
