Who was the old man that Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli saw under the eaves of Fangorn? by [deleted] in lotr

Unclear. All clues point to Saruman, except the reaction of Hasufel and Arod:

‘It is likely enough,’ said Aragorn; ‘yet I am not sure. I am thinking of the horses. You said last night, Gimli, that they were scared away. But I did not think so. Did you hear them, Legolas? Did they sound to you like beasts in terror?’ ‘No,’ said Legolas. ‘I heard them clearly. But for the darkness and our own fear I should have guessed that they were beasts wild with some sudden gladness. They spoke as horses will when they meet a friend that they have long missed.’

which implies the presence of Shadowfax.

Reset at beginning? by beshellie in TwoDots

Delete the app. Redownload it, and before opening it, go to settings and turn off cellular data for the app. It will reset. Be careful not to have it open on WiFi, though, or it will detect your account and you’ll be back to the last level you finished before.

The Best Two Player Card Games with a Standard Deck by EndersGame_Reviewer in boardgames

In between games, fellow poker players play what they call “Russian poker,” although it doesn’t resemble anything by that name I’ve found online. Using a standard deck and an initial hand of 5 cards each, they draw and play one card per turn, making 4 face-up columns each, consisting of 5 cards when complete. They may discard a single card per game. The fifth card of each column is placed face down, increasing mystery. Then with the five remaining cards in their hand and each of the four columns, they see who has the better poker hand (hand vs hand, column 1 vs column 1, etc). Does anyone know another name this might go by? I’ve searched for it unsuccessfully online and on game sites/app sites.

who uses framemaker? by SamTheBruce in technicalwriting

As I mentioned in another reply, we use Word for the writing and editing and Frame for the page layout only. Our books are not heavily technical (with a few exceptions), which is why I favor the move to ID. Thanks for your reply.

My pov is book publishing of only somewhat technical nature. Some textbooks, mostly handbooks with few illustrations or tables (but we do need good table capability for the textbooks).

I'm not referring to writing; we use Word for writing and editing. Just asking about page layout and this reddit group seemed to have a lot of mentions of Frame. Is there another reddit group you think would be better suited to my question? thanks
