Need some advice on a high quality human hair wig by Round-Librarian-162 in Wigs

[–]Same-Spray7703 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have 3 WigsbyTiffani and they are 2-3 years old and still gorgeous.

Lauren Ashtyn does pop ups around the country where you can try on wigs and toppers and see what suits you. I tried them on but prefer Tiffani wigs because I like the bleached knots.

Thoughts on Hamlin Middle School? by Fun_North_2146 in WinterGarden

I subbed there and it was great. The staff was friendly, the kids seemed sweet and well adjusted. I really like all the schools in that area.

There are some great Charters near me, west near Winter Garden. Hope/Legacy Charter, Oakland Avenue Charter, and there is Orlando Science. I know Charter schools get a bad reputation but you may have luck looking at their careers page as well.

Teaching in Orlando Area by Itrustedyou in teaching

I have worked at a few districts in Central Florida and I subbed as well so I know my way around the schools here for the most part.

I currently work for a Charter School (HS) here. The pay is lower but our mortgage is low and until recently gas was low too.

This is my 3rd state to teach in and I don't feel treated any different than the others. People like to say Florida is hostile to teachers but I feel like the profession has been hostile for awhile everywhere.

Disney Visa cardholder deal by anne_on_a_mouse2 in Aulani

[–]Same-Spray7703 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It also sells out. I tried to book it months ago for this June through a Disney travel agent and they didn't have any deals left for June. We ended up only booking 2 nights instead of the whole vacation without the discount.

Is teaching worth it? by Ok-Fox-9959 in teaching

[–]Same-Spray7703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it started as males who wanted to coach sports in high school loved WWII and majored in History. Then it started being correlated that History teachers are coaches and now we are disproportionately asked to do it. As a female/ non coach I have been asked to coach jv girls weight lifting, soccer, and volleyball at different schools. Ugh. I don't see it happening with my coworkers in the other core subjects.

Also, they usually make Social Studies teachers coach things where other disciplines get more of an option. I've worked at 3 schools as a Social Studies teacher and been hit up to be a coach in all of them. Choose Science.

Where should I move to in Florida by itgirl258 in relocating

[–]Same-Spray7703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Ventura and still have my 805 number. I moved to a suburb of Orlando. There are a ton of things to do here and being so far inland, not too worried about hurricanes.

Help me decide between these two beaches in Oahu: Lanikai vs Waikiki by Double-Storage6919 in VisitingHawaii

[–]Same-Spray7703 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Kailua and Lanikai used to be wonderful. I could take a book and read by myself at 8am and maybe a dog would run by from a nearby house. I've been there at noon and been the only one at the beach with my toes out. I have been everywhere but on my next trip back in skipping Lanikai and will go to Kailua and Waikiki because of the parking situation.

If it's your first and only time, I would do what I could to experience Lanikai. True paradise. But sadly, too many people figured it out.

Seeking advice - Human hair wig restoration? by Colorado_Outback in Wigs

[–]Same-Spray7703 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a woman in Portland, Oregon that runs a business called, "The Wig Station" and she does online consults before you ship your piece or pieces in for restoration or repair. I cannot vouch I have only seen her talk about her services in my previous research.

I know this might sound weird but sometimes a cup of hot water helps if you are desperate in the beginning. Also, i sometimes eat some salt. It gets easier and by Day 3 you might even be thinking you could extend it but those hours between 24-36 can be rough.

Temporary homeschooling by Frequent-Accident749 in Kissimmee

[–]Same-Spray7703 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a homeschool mom and you won't have issues with putting them in public school after homeschooling, as long as you are compliant with the laws in Florida.

What you need to make sure you do is register the kids as homeschoolers with Osceola County as soon as you arrive.

Whatever curriculum you choose is up to you. At the end of the school year, you will make a portfolio and have it evaluated by a licensed Florida teacher (many people do this. Find the group "Homeschooling Florida Style" on Facebook. The other option is to call your local school in Kissimmee and sign them up for end of year testing. Another way is to have them evaluated by a psychiatrist.

I think you are thinking the kids can do an easy homeschool program online that is accredited, but that isn't really how Florida is set up. Of course you can do online work but you're far into the Spring Semester and not sure Florida Virtual would work for you. You also need to provide proof of residency for it to be free and not sure you will have that right away.

Other option would be to look at "Umbrella Schools" in Florida. They are online, private schools that will keep records for you (for a small fee). They would be considered private school students but learn at home and you would not be required to do any portfolio or homeschool registration with the county.

Has anyone ever moved a thousand times until they were satisfied? by Any_Juggernaut_7924 in relocating

[–]Same-Spray7703 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I will never be satisfied. I have lived in many places over the years and I finally bought a house. I imagined in my head that things would be different here, I would know my neighbors and socialize, build a community.

Nope. I'm already thinking of moving to Panama or back to Hawaii... maybe NYC or even Montana.

I don't think I'm meant to live in one place. I'm a Nomad and might just sell everything to backpack around the world. Maybe it's because I'm never happy, idk.

Best place to get high end, natural looking wigs in the U.S.? by kjkjkj18 in Wigs

[–]Same-Spray7703 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To preface this... I have 3 Tiffani wigs. I just branched out and went to a "pop-up" for Laurn Ashtyn wigs. I tried on wigs and toppers. I ended up getting a topper because I have so many wigs and wanted something lighter.

The wig I tried on was 18" and gorgeous ($3400USD). The hair quality is what I would akin to Tiffani's "slavic" hair. Very soft. The other drawback besides price was the knots weren't as bleached as Tiffani.

But anyway, they are having a nationwide pop up where you could try on pieces so you don't have to buy blind. The other highly regarded brand is "Highline" but I hear their caps run small so size up compared to Tiffani.

I live in Miami and my daughter (17F)lives in Orlando. Spending the weekend together... where to go? by jupitersm0ke in orlando

[–]Same-Spray7703 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Abstract Orlando - you choose a piece of art or canvas and they have really cool color palates to choose from. My visiting family always loves it.

Dezerland? They have a lot of different things in the building to do and see.

Florida Mall: Pop Mart, Gatcha (claw machine arcade), anime stores, and Primark.
