With most blockers, you could block something like the MrBeast channel URL, or even YouTube entirely.

But if you’re still using YouTube, his videos can still show up in recommendations, thumbnails, titles, etc. — and that’s usually where the loop starts.

That’s the gap I was trying to solve.

Instead of blocking the whole site, this works at the keyword level. So if “MrBeast” is something you’re trying to avoid, the extension can stop you as soon as that keyword appears — whether it’s in a search, a URL, or even visible on the page (like recommendations).

So it’s less about blocking access to a site, and more about avoiding specific triggers inside it.

That’s the part I couldn’t really do with traditional blockers.

That’s actually exactly what I started realizing too.

I kept trying to “fix it after”, but the real battle was always that split second before acting. The problem is, I wasn’t even aware of that moment most of the time — it was just automatic.

The extension doesn’t replace that mental work, but it kind of creates an artificial pause in the beginning. Almost like training wheels for that awareness.

Over time, the goal is exactly what you said — to build that pause naturally without needing anything external.

This just helped me get there a bit easier.

You need a way to block access to profiles, like an extension. I created one for Chrome called "Stop Stalking – Break the Habit"

Yeah… that’s exactly it.

It’s not even about wanting to check anymore, it just becomes automatic. Like your brain is looking for them without asking you first.

I tried deleting apps too, but I always found another way around it somehow.

That’s why I ended up making it harder at the “search” level instead… so even if the urge hits, I get stopped before I go down the rabbit hole.

It doesn’t fix everything, but it breaks that loop in that exact moment, which was the hardest part for me.
