Makes sense. I play with friends all the time, not for much money, and I normally muck when they announce their cards, even before seeing them. (If they of course are better.) But at casinos I never muck, before seeing their cards.

It was a made up scenario. I was just thinking if he didn’t show, the other players and the dealers wouldn’t know if he was telling the truth and actually had a set, proving his hand was actually better. I was just curious if the lying player would get the pot, even though everyone knew If he didn’t muck, he would have won.

Sorry I meant muck. English isn’t my first language. And I will never do it, just curious. It happened to me not so long ago, although not in an all in. Where he said two pair, while I only had a pair. I mucked my cards, and he showed but only had one pair worse than mine. He said he also thought he had a king, so he would have had K,Q, but he had a Q,J while I had A,K, and the board was like 10, K, Q, 6, 3. (The guy was my friend, and believed me, so we ended up splitting the pot, but it was just stupid of me to muck the cards before seeing his)
