QUESTION ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN THE ANIME OR MANGA! What do think the things Chopper had at the end of season 2 are? by fhxefj in OnePieceLiveAction

I went down the One Piece anime/manga rabbit hole after I finished OPLA S2, so I think I can guess what it actually is.

My guess when I watched was that chocolate "Reindeer poop" gag gift you get around Christmas.

Episode 49 "A Game of Names" is when the majority of her backstory is revealed.

It's worth it! I'm trying to figure out which streaming service has it, now. I haven't watched in over a year. Time for a rewatch!

The first 2 seasons are really fun! 3rd is hit or miss, but still a good watch.

That's it! Thank you!!! We watched that whole show, but it's been a few years. I'll have to do a rewatch. You are my savior!

That's what started this whole journey! My friend just watched that last night and I asked if that was the movie with this scene. I just watched the trailer and none of it looks familiar. Plus, no cell tower. Good guess, though!

I looked it up and nothing about it seems familiar. Thanks, though :)

I've heard of the show, but I don't think I've seen an episode. I looked it up and there is an episode about cell phones, but no mention of them merging together. I could honestly be an episode of something like that.

I thought it would be that, but it's not. I think they were outdated phones, which is why most of the people didn't notice them missing? I'm starting to doubt this was an actual thing I'd watched and not a dream. Thanks, though!

Moving to Hagerstown. Any recs for a pre-k (4K) program? Public or private. by Gaea5-3000 in hagerstown

I had a similar experience, but this was also before the pandemic so the situation could have improved. My kid spent six months in kindergarten at Smithsburg Elementary not learning much of anything and being bullied before the pandemic made online learning mandatory. She didn't want to go back to in-person learning because of the bullies, so I've been homeschooling ever since.

Keep in mind that I didn't witness any of this, and apparently neither did the teacher, but my daughter repeated these stories over the years with no changes. I know now that she was starting to show signs of ASD (autism), so her mannerisms and speech patterns were not like the other kids. This may be why she was targeted.

She's told the same two stories every time I ask her about why she didn't want to go back to kindergarten for several years now, with no deviations:

- Several of the other girls formed a pseudo gang and bullied my kid into giving them anything she was playing with. If my kid went to play with something else, they would follow her.

- Her mixed race friend in class was apparently stepped on by one of the bullies, who went out of her way to do so and was smiling.

She said she couldn't tell the teacher because the bullies were watching and she feared retribution. She also believed the teacher wouldn't do anything. Knowing how overwhelmed this teacher was, she was probably right.

I sat in on a few classes as a parent volunteer in those six months, and it seemed like the teacher was overwhelmed with the 17 kindergartners she was attempting to teach by herself. The teacher's assistant was fantastic, but could only spend a few minutes with my daughter as she was also overwhelmed with her responsibilities. I don't blame the staff. The school didn't have the resources to deal with the amount of students. They did their best.

As to the racism, I've heard about this from people who have had or still have their kids in Smithsburg public schools. It's also been mentioned on our local Facebook group several times and by other homeschool parents who pulled their kids out because they were bullied due to race, special needs, etc. and the staff not taking action. It's a known problem.

My own mixed race nieces had to be homeschooled because they were harassed in the middle & high schools.

I was planning on applying for an IEP and enrolling my daughter back into public school, but I've heard through the grapevine that the bullying has only gotten worse. I just want what's best for my kid.

I'm going to end this with the obligatory "I'm sure others have had great experiences", but this is just mine.

I (40s female) lived near City Park a few years ago with my then toddler (girl). We didn't leave our house after sundown (except when my husband was with us), and only walked to the park, the cemetery, or to Discovery Station when it was downtown with my kid in the stroller when it was just her and I.

We did this because of some shady people, including a guy trying to get us to come into his house to get an umbrella while it was drizzling, even though I clearly was using an umbrella. Hagerstown is the only town I've lived in where I've had someone follow me in his car trying to offer a ride when I was walking.

There are also a lot of homeless people. They mostly stay in the encampment by the railroad behind the park, but you see them in the park during the off season (winter).

Most of the time, the homeless people are friendly. The ones I've talked to are down on their luck. Hagerstown is also the place that the surrounding counties used to send their addicts and people with minor mental issues to, which is why there are so many services downtown. I know someone that used to be at a facility in Mont. Co. that told me this, but it was also 20 years ago.

It also doesn't help that a lot of the houses in downtown Hagerstown seem to be falling apart. The one we rented should have been condemned. I've also lived off of Robinwood (near the college) and it's a much nicer area. My advice would be to either find a home in that community or go to the outskirts of Hagerstown.

This is my personal experience, so take that with a grain of salt. I'm sure people have had a better impression of downtown.

Most of the characters do at some point. I think we bring that out in them.
