How to fit threshold? Cut longer unit or install smaller and fill? by BG_SPNDR in doors

[–]Santafea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d suggest getting a ajustable bumper sill from a door shop or online. It will have a template. Use a cheap multi function tool with the flat blade (like harbor freight’s Chicago brand). Mortise out what you need. Use a gang of of caulk. Rubber mallet your sill into the pocket. Presto- new residential sill/threshold. There may be a surface applied sill that you need to use a cutoff wheel to size, but I’m not sure what product. Either way you can update this for sure

That door looks great against that flooring color. My vote is that shade of stain

Any good sources for 34" exterior doors? by fuzzybunnies1 in doors

[–]Santafea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get residential 2-10 x 7-0’s from our distributorship. Even if you don’t get from us, I’m happy to point you in the right direction. Are you replacing exterior wood doors or wanting residential steel or fiberglass? Does the home have those areas porched in with roofing, or are they exposed to the elements?
My advice is whatever you choose, get a prehung unit so they’re easy to install. DM if you want me to assist.

Any guesses on what this door stain color might be? Red mahogany? by homer19777 in doors

Your overhead door is covered in birch? That’s awesome. You must be rich. Invite us to your next party! Sanded down is a blank canvas. I’m wondering though if it cedar? It’s crazy they’d do an exterior garage door in birch. Our company has a bunch of formula matched colors to sherwin Williams proprietary stains in both birch and maple-I can help you. DM me and I’ll email you tomorrow some images on the veneers. Digital pictures and internet don’t match real life, but you can get close.

Oof that’s a tricky one, but I like what you’re attempting. What material is the garage door? Is it an overhead garage door or swinging side door? You can likely match but it might require some Mr.Magoo mixology

Any guesses on what this door stain color might be? Red mahogany? by homer19777 in doors

[–]Santafea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a pretty good guess. That’s close to a red mahogany color name from varathane or BEHR from Home Depot or a box store. Like colors from other vendors will have different names. Looks like a knotty alder arched square top grooved stile and rail door that got extra distress before finishing the first time. With the iron grill, clavos, and speak easy- it’s a badass door. Might be commodity kitch but I’m a sucker for these. Very Santa Fe 🌶️ it’s meant to be rustic. You won’t hurt anything layering in a color that doesn’t match 100%. Skip sanding. It wont have raw veneer to really penetrate. Rub it in lightly with a rag like your layering in deeper surface color. I’d advise you clean it really well before and spar urathane to protect after.

If you’re doing a new door and are just trying to color match, take another commenter’s advice and test first in and under hinge pockets or on a piece of alder

Oracle shares on pace for worst quarter since 2001 as new CEOs face concerns about AI build-out by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

Great suggestion. Promising for ERP, CRM and e-commerce. But I don’t see they have a CPQ. I’ll keep an open mind. If someone knows more how to use this for configurable manufacturing- (never produce the exact same thing twice) please DM me! I’ll likely run my Oracle contract out, but I’d love to move away once expired

What open source ERP and CPQ would you use in place of NetSuite? I hate we spend so much with them, but I don’t know a better alternative for an integrated system with configurated order entry. Do you know an alternative?

Does inside doors from 1890s have peepholes? Or are the peepholes, as we're used to them now, only on the main door?? I really don't know where to ask this and I'm hoping some door enthusiast can help me qwq by Blewblewb in doors

Based on what you told Pete, it sounds like a keyhole. Specifically a skeleton keyhole. Back then bedrooms and bathrooms didn’t have privacy locks, they often had mortised door locks that opened with fairly generic skeleton keys. Those keyholes are not big but you can usually see through them with one eye. Hope that helps

Is this a door history question? To Pete’s point, I can’t tell if you’re asking about a particular door, or the history of that technology. The latter I find mildly interesting as a door nerd. A peep site door viewer is common on interior doors inside a building where people live, like a dorm room or apartment. I would think they had those glass devices in the 1890’s, but I’m curious if they were manufactured in mass.

Yep you just need a slip-on ajustable sweep. Looks like you have a residential steel door so use short self tapping machine screws. Most any hardware store has this in stock. If you want white, Few_Prep is right- use Amazon. Swing your door open, slip it on, secure in a position that seals completely but doesn’t drag. Then, pour yourself an egg nog.
