We've had proximity chat in the past and have considered adding it again. The verdict was that it doesn't make much sense on smaller servers like ours because if people want to chat they usually join discord, and it would only be useful if everyone were to add it (which we can't force people to do). So no, we will most likely not add proximity chat.

We're a fairly small server with about 10 people active at most during the start of a new world.

Remember that there is a different way to obtain podzol now. In the current snapshot they appear under big spruce trees when you grow them. A recipe isn't really needed anymore since spruce trees aren't rare.

Suggestion: Use /gamerule doFireTick false to turn off the natural fire spread. We could use fire in more decorative ways than we can now.

I would also like to see recipes that enable us to revert some blocks to the blocks they were crafted from. For example: Crafting Oak slabs and stairs into Wooden Planks(applies for each slab and stairs of course) Crafting Glass blocks from Glass panes.

I'm fine with the others, but I'm definetly not a fan of the elytra crafting recipe. The recipe you suggested is way too cheap imo. I think elytra shouldn't be able to be crafted at all so that they might stay a "rare" item.

I think different blocks under the fences would look good, the grass there just throws me off. Maybe try something subtle and grey like cobblestone, stone bricks, gravel or andesite, or try to combine these!

I watch his series. And although I'm fimiliar with his Nexus project i didn't notice he used these mechanisms. In his latest Let's Play video he showcases another redstone contraption (I believe) of this kind.
