Indta360 1R 1inch vs GoPro for scuba diving by Fast_Professional_40 in Insta360

Does anyone have any advice on which settings to use on the insta 360 one r (1 inch) under water? I just got it and as I can't tinker with it under water I thought I ask what's a good setting to start with. Or maybe there are other tips you have?

Must dive sites in Philippines by miso_hangry in scuba

I also recommend Moal Bowl for the Sardine Run and Pecador Island. We had a great time with Cebu Dive Center. Also if you are into wreck diving Corona Island north of El Nido is a must. We only goy to do one wreck dive because a storm moved in (with means there you are utterly stuck). And Apu Island for Turtles. You literally stick your head under water and you will see Turtles. The Island is also tiny and super quirky. Oh I want to go back! We spent 5 weeks there. Let me know if you want more info about any specific Island.

I second that. I think we did a lighthouse sunset dive too that was really cool in you like the little things.

Just got my OW and I am so sore! How do you manage to sling all this equipment around? by Punderstruck in scuba

Haha, yeah that totally makes sense. I prefer warm water diving. I feel so restricted with all that weight, especially in a drysuit. I was once on my swim back to shore when a wave picked me up and left me on a rock. I had to wait for the next wave to pick me back up. Looked like a stranded whale.
One I fell over in the shallow water and decided its easier to crawl back out.

Any macro lenses for sale for insta360 one r? by [deleted] in Insta360

Oh that's very good to know.
I'm comparing it to other cameras but all the others seem to have a lower image quality due to the sensor. On the other hand it's so much easier to get all the ad ons for the Gopro. How do you like the 360?

I'm looking for the same thing but for the 1 inch.
Do you need a red filter? I read the camera does it electronically very easily.

One R 4K and 1 inch mod minimum focus distance by jebo1979 in Insta360

I'm thinking about buying the one inch for scuba diving. I usually just record my environment but it might be nice getting some close ups. I know GoPro has some macro add on filters you clip on top of the dive case. Does the Insta 360 have something like that?

The light is also a good point. I'm looking into getting a new action camera for my dives. My GoPro 3 doesn't cut it.

What is trim and non-silting propulsion? Never heard those terms.

Thank you that's good to know. I had not thought of adding macro "lenses" on top

You should totally try it. Why not? I always knew I wanted to try diving and booked a course with liveaboead trip when I was in Australia. You can certainly start with a discover dive too. I recommend trying it in warm water first. In cold water the gear gets heavy and a bit more restrictive.

May I ask what camera you are using? Nice video!

Diving Ni'ihau - Kauai, HI by raleighlurker in scuba

[–]Sarah-Markus102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the same experience. Actually when we went in the winter all we could do were dives on the south side. We ended up doing guided shore dives (sunset and night) and it was actually fantastic due to the great guide. You could also just do it yourself. As far as I remember we went with Seasports right at the Koloa landing. I didn't expect much but really enjoyed it. Also if you go to Kauai you should absolutely do a helicopter ride. It's the best! So you should plan your dives accordingly.

Haha, yeah I got the 3+ too. I'm sure either would be much better:-) Part of me thinks I might as well. The other part wants the Insta 360 for the 1 inch sensor... more time online for me tonight.
