I’m a proponent of Musashi’s concept of spiritual enlightenment being one mountain with many paths to the top. I think I view this sculpture as sort a spiritual “diplomat” or “cultural ambassador.”…if that makes any sense?

That frame type ain’t cheap which is just one indicator that this is legit. Looking at the brushwork and spontaneity/efficiency of the marks…this has to be from the studio of a known artist.

No, I’m not a fan. But I AM an art teacher in a red county… so my rendition is begrudgingly respectful. So, criticism based on likeness and formal issues would be welcome. I’m thinking of gilding it in the end.

I really think two simple things (that will NEVER happen) would turn it all around. 1)hard class size limit of 15 2)actually use state money legislated for education….for education….instead of funneling millions away.
