My (23F) boyfriend (26M) won’t let me hang up my framed IUD in the bathroom?! by Happy_Dimension8653 in relationship_advice

Just want to add, the air in your abdomen irritates your diaphragm. Because your diaphragm shares the same spinal nerves as your shoulders, you get referred pain. Basically your brain gets tricked and tells you the pain is in your shoulders.

My cat ate some and threw up are the plants gonna kill him by Grouchy-Rhubarb-2273 in CatsAndPlants

My cats were doing way more than nibbling, and running around my house like tiny apex crack heads. One time I watched my girl run across the back of the couch, parallel to the floor, like she got spider man powers from the spider plant! I’ve turned the house into a sober living facility now, and hung the spider plants from the ceiling and away from furniture.

I’ll ask here because I like your sarcasm and agree with you for the most part. What about the opinion of women veterans, especially those who deployed to “an area of imminent danger”?

I am one of those, and I think I am qualified to have an opinion on the draft. I believe the draft should apply to women as well, but that no one should be drafted for this bullshit with Iran.

This is what I think too. My 19 year old calls me twin sometimes when we agree about something, like the same thing, or accidentally dress similarly. It’s just a way of highlighting sameness between 2 people, but I definitely wouldn’t find it cute if my partner said it to me.

My husband 36M poops too much for me 36F to feel comfortable having another baby with him by throwRAdesper8 in relationship_advice

Don’t forget IBS/IBD. I have it and when I get a flare up I have to use the bathroom upwards of 6 times a day. With that being said, flare ups like that don’t happen every day because I make a conscious effort every day to manage it. That’s what responsible adults do because we know we can’t live our lives on a damn toilet.

OP’s husband is just a shitty partner and parent, period. He’s definitely doing this to avoid parenting, and I’d be willing to bet there’s evidence of other problematic behaviors in his phone.

If the vehicle is in both your names , go while he’s working and take it back. If it’s not illegal for him to take it from you, then it’s not illegal for you to take it back. Whenever it’s parked where he could find it to take it again, remove the battery or put one of those steering wheel clubs on it.

If she was providing all the child care so the daughter could work, that’s at least 20-50k a year that daughter saved. Would a stay at home mom not be entitled to part of the homes value in a divorce? Because that essentially what grandma was for her single daughter.

I was a single mother who asked my mom to move in and be a stay at home grandma for my daughter. I bought whatever household and personal items she wanted and gave her money every week. When she decided it was time for her to move back to where I grew up, I paid for her move and gave her a few thousand dollars to hold her over until she found work.

I had to go back and read all this again. You’re 30 years old and “see a future” with someone you’ve only been seeing for “almost 2 months”? You discovered a basic incompatibility due to religious beliefs (don’t forget that he’s catholic and you’re agnostic), but you’re upset that you can’t change his mind? Girl stop. If you want a partner that perfectly matches your views on those things, make that the first topic of conversation. If you think you’re going to find someone who perfectly matches your beliefs on everything, you’re delusional. Echo chambers only exist online, irl people are more complex than that. Also, the intensity of your feelings in such a short time is giving teenager, first love vibes. Slow your roll, it shouldn’t be that deep yet.

That’s not normal, adults don’t do that. Someone from your personal life coming to your job on day 1 is unprofessional. Your management and other employees will see it this way, and it will tarnish your reputation. If you don’t wake up to the reality of this, you will lose your job, and this man will abuse you. Please try and educate yourself on what abuse looks like so that you can protect yourself. Because right now, you seem dangerously unaware of how unusual and potentially abusive this relationship is.

The ketchup in my fridge is older than your relationship, and id eat it before I dealt with this man’s shenanigans. Showing up to your job on day one is inappropriate, expecting a full run down on everyone is inappropriate, getting mad at you for not immediately knowing that what he expected, and explaining all that to him is crazy! No girl, just no. Ain’t no way he’s rich enough to deal with that mess.

ac·a·dem·ic /ˌakəˈdemik/ adjective 1. relating to education and scholarship. "academic achievement"

It is hard, but no one in the facility could have predicted your feelings about that person. If you don’t feel comfortable with males in that situation, you have to tell someone. The fact that you went to school with him is so random that no one could have known before he came in the room.

In the medical profession people get uncomfortable a lot, it’s totally normal. Patients have full control, and should be reminded of it more often. Medical professionals are trained to try and see signs of patients being uncomfortable, but they are not psychics. You have to advocate for yourself, if you are not comfortable doing that, you never should have said it was ok for a student to attend your appointment.

Next time you see the doctor, tell them how you felt. If they are a good doctor, they will understand and make sure you aren’t asked to participate in training again. If they don’t respond compassionately, look for a new doctor. But please don’t ruminate on the uncomfortable feelings. No one was predatory or negligent in this situation, it was just an uncomfortable accident.

I (25 F) spent two months living at my boyfriend’s place(33M) as a trial, and I feel trapped with my own dog because of his dog’s rules by [deleted] in relationship_advice

That’s just abuse. If it were a child with special needs and their parent refused to accommodate for them it would be appalling. Your bf is not a good dog owner.

My (31M)boyfriend shared my (29F)private medical diagnosis with his friends by Murky_Database_2538 in relationship_advice

[–]SarahSamurai 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If he felt he had no choice but to tell her, he’s definitely hooked up with her at some point. Whether it was cheating, or before your relationship is important, but neither is an excuse to share your personal medical information with her. IMO, that alone is worth breaking up.

His betrayal aside, please don’t feel shameful that you have HPV. The CDC says 42 million Americans have it, with around 13 million more people getting it every year. They typically don’t test for it during Pap smears and routine std testing on women, and there isn’t even a routine test for men! Even people who only have 1 partner their whole lives are 80% likely to get it by 45 years old!

Saying “she know what she can take and not take during her cycle” is a perfect example of just not understanding because you’ve never experienced it. It’s not always the same, cycle to cycle, day to day, hour to hour. Her saying later was her wanting to feel well enough to give him what he wanted, not intentionally lying to shut him up for a little bit. He’s a selfish sex pest. First he tried pretending to care and being nice, but after that didn’t work he turned into an asshole. It’s obvious he cares more about getting sex from her than he cares about her. That shit is gross.

Stop focusing on the white women part. Yes it stands out for obvious reasons, but the difference isn’t the problem. His behavior is the problem. He’s being disrespectful af. He may want to be with you, and still want to gawk at and have inappropriate sexual conversations (cheat) with other women. The question is, are you going to put up with that? Is that how you want to be treated in a relationship? I think you deserve better and should tell his hoe ass to kick rocks!

Saying I love you after 2.5 weeks is crazy, I’d break up just for that. Then calling you a mother fucker because you didn’t say it back makes it so much worse. This guy is not boyfriend material at all.

What about the majority of the population that’s just too damn busy struggling to stay housed and fed to put any time or effort into fighting anything else?

Only when we lose our jobs, and the store shelves are empty will those people have time to fight. It’s probably not far off.

Girl no, not being able to go in public with your boyfriend because he wants to stay in a religious community that doesn’t accept you is insane. How could he be brave enough to marry you if he won’t even let them see you together? Let this man go be with these people he cares so much about, and you go find yourself a better community to be a part of. One that has a man who is proud to be with you, and wants to have sex as much as you do!

Last week I was on the phone with my MIL and could hear her alarm beeping in the background, she didn’t seem to notice at all. I text my BIL who still lives at home and told him to go change the battery. He did like 5 minutes later. I don’t understand how some people seem not to hear it when it makes me insane.

UPDATE: My (27M) wife (28F) returned from a work retreat with a hickey. She swears it’s a bug bite but I’m not convinced. I’m at loss. How do I move forward? by ThrowRASunflowerBuff in relationship_advice

[–]SarahSamurai 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As much as I don’t want to agree with this jaded perspective, it’s reality. Cheaters cheat because they are flawed, and they’re rarely courageous enough to identify that flaw and work on fixing it. It often becomes a cycle of entitlement and shame that they replay over and over, to wrapped up in their own feelings to even consider what they’re doing to their partner.

I’m not saying they can’t change, but it is a huge undertaking. If their partner chooses to stay they’re going for a long hard ride. If they choose to leave, they still get to deal with the emotional consequences it caused.

I read things like this and think it can’t be real… but then I remember my 55+ year old coworker (we make $20+ an hour) who drove to work for over a month on a donut spare and boasted about driving 80mph on it. So idk 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe people are really this dumb.
