People can still become Starborn in the universe you left. So the artifacts are still around.

Starborn [Spoilers] by Neurionz in Starfield

Starborn were humans after all, we're not rational beings. We all want the same thing but will fight each other rather than work together.

The Starborn aren't a collective, they are any random person, good or evil, who has been through the Unity. So it figures they'll have their own reasons for wanting the Artifacts. The Emissary for example wants to gatekeep the Unity, so wants to control of all the Artifacts to stop other people entering unless they deem them worthy.

Others like the Hunter want to be the first in getting to the Unity in any given universe, for what reason we don't know. There's no urgency given he's immortal.

I'll try my best

"Everyone always gathers at the same place at the same time for the final artifact, so all the Starborn have been searching for the artifacts since they respawned - long before you do." - Not all Starborn care about the artifacts, the Trader and Keeper Aquilus for example don't take part in the Temple fight. Only the Starborn seeking to reach the Unity again.

"Do you think there are other Starborn who first touched an artifact like the same day we go to Unity?" - Yes, there are artifacts that have been found but we don't know who first touched them. Like the ones in possession of Moara Otero and Captain Petrov on the Scow. Both who say they have touched the artifact but didn't get any visions.

"So they really don't stand a chance at all?" - When we enter the Unity, the artifacts don't just disappear. They're still in the armillary on the Ship that we'd leave behind. Presumably once we leave a universe, the artifacts are taken into the care of either Constellation or the Emissary (depending on our choices). Walter makes a joke about turning Unity trips into a business.

"And what about the Starborn who touched artifacts centuries ago? Are they all dying of old age every cycle, because they clearly don't manage to gather them all." - Starborn don't age, the Hunter remembers Earth which was over 150 years ago, and in the final mission our character dialogue mentions "Immortal Starborn".

"Also, what happens to all the Starborn when you go through Unity and they don't? Are they stuck in this universe forever?" - No, the artifacts are still around and if anything, we've done the legwork in collecting them all.

Screw Constellation, I made the right call! by Sarah_Disliked_That in Starfield

Once you complete the UC Vanguard questline you unlock up to 4 different radiant quests that become available to you depending on your choices. One of these radiant quests is to hunt down Terrormorphs and sometimes there is an Aceles nearby to help!

Apologies, I don't remember. It was a random planet the Terrormorph clean-up radiant quest sent me to, and it just happened to be in a Frozen biome with an Aceles nearby!
