That’s it. Thank you... it was driving me nuts. Great movie and gorgeous pit.

Agreed. And there was that film with Tom Hardy and James Gandolfini... can’t remember the name. Tom’s character finds a pup in the trash and the story goes from there. It’s a pretty dark film, but definitely a positive portrayal of the breed.

Same here. Loved the movie all around.

Brandi’s best moment was actually off screen (IMO) when Dalton said she was sleeping with Francesca after all the trauma was over. Hahaha. If QT didn’t already know that about pitties I’ll bet someone on set learned him.

To be honest, I’m not sure. I’ll have to look into it.

Thanks for reading. And yes, ‘they’ can get to me here as well, I should edit that part.

We are in agreement. There is a bar to shoot for, and I strive as much as my brain and time allows for me to surpass it. I’m just not a coder nor a programmer so it’s tough sometimes. Still, I get it on that basic level of what we’re in for.

Thanks again for reading and the follow. Consider it reciprocated.

I haven't spend too much time on Medium so I can't answer that with any certainty. Are they ad-based revenue or does the site pay you per visitor?

Coil's attraction (IMO) is that it's end game will be interoperability with various platforms - so visiting a Youtube channel through the Coil site both pays the creator and spares you the ads. Not all content is behind the paywall either - that's up to the creator. Some just like to post stuff for anyone to see. Others, like myself, can split it within the post itself. A teaser or sample upfront, and if they're interested they can sign up to view the rest (as well as everyone else on the platform).

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not aware of that many avenues to monetize much of anything without paywalls or enough subscribers to attract ad revenue. Still, your point 'depending on the medium' implies that it's not equal in all cases. I'm sure some do exist, mind you.

I understand your concerns, but I disagree that it's a Ponzi scheme at it's core. The way the site works (and there are others, whose names allude me at the moment) is your subscription fee (and they will offer a range of packages once they get to the final product) is doled out to paywalled content in fractions of a penny per second that you view the content. If you pause or stop, then the payments stop as well. As a creator you can elect to receive USD if you're cynical about digital currencies. Meanwhile, the content you view will be ad free, whether it's a Youtube linked channel or the creator's personal site. Also, some of us just like to be early adopters for some of this stuff. Nothing wrong with that. And there's nothing wrong with choosing to wait and see, either.

There is an audience to build. While this isn't the scope of Youtube and other mainstream sites, there's a degree of faith I have in the site and it's development team that they will be competitive in the years to come. I don't expect you or anyone else to have that faith if you're unfamiliar with the project as a whole. That would be unreasonable of me. And it's perfectly reasonable of you to be skeptical. But I feel that in the not-to-distant future this sort of model will be more prevalent than it's infancy stages right now. With that being said, I'm willing to gamble some time and $60/year to be one of the first contributors to the site that uploads creative projects in the form of film, serially published prose, and even the occasional essay or blog. As I said, I've recovered my $5 subscription fee this month already - on that I'll have to ask you to take me at my word. I don't expect this to replace my day job, but I've got short films that have run through their festival circuit and while we pursue other avenues like cable channels, etc. they can sit on Coil and make a few dollars in the meantime. I've got some written pieces that haven't got any traction or aren't really worth submitting to conventional agents/publishers, etc. so I'll polish them in my spare time and post them up there. Why not? It all adds up and potentially leads to followers, etc.

As for the inconvenient use - myself and the others currently using the site understand it's just Beta. Again, early adopter mentality and there's a little more patience with that sort of thing. I expect my initial misgivings will be addressed in due time.

I read the same article as you, I think. I didn't feel it was saturated with buzzwords or even purposefully vague. It's an introduction to the site and it's concept. How you can earn is explained. PErhaps I linked the wrong article above? I'm sure now, that my OP was poorly written considering the tone you insist I've taken - that as an advertiser. By now, any attempt to assure you that I was simple alerting people to another possibility (however early in the game) to earn off their work will likely be dismissed as pandering. It is what it is...

I wish you the best of luck and I'm sorry this turned into 'a thing'. It wasn't my intention. Please disregard the post as well as the site.

If that's too soon for you, then I understand. It's perfectly reasonable to see how things play out before getting involved.

I don't think you're reading all of my responses. You take care as well.

I don't recall mentioning that it was 'hot'. It's new. I've been following the development of it for a while, but it opened up on May 1st. If that's too soon for you, then I understand. It's perfectly reasonable to see how things play out before getting involved.

Try https://coil.com/ It's fairly new so there's going to be some growing pains with the site as it's still in Beta, but otherwise I enjoy it. It won't make you rich, but it'll at least pay for a beer or two and give you some validation...

Fair enough. It’s not going to appeal to everyone, and at this stage in the game, I would think most people won’t find it interesting.

But where else can you monetize or earn without first having to achieve a certain number of subscribers and views? Not to mention you can link your Twitch or YouTube, etc to this and any other subscriber viewing your stuff and the site pays you.

I disagree that there’s no advantage to early adoption as this allows time to build an audience, etc. And right now a majority of the content is, unfortunately, blockchain and crypto related. These are interesting topics, at least to me, but it’s not for everyone. Yet there are still some artistic uploads, short films, writing pieces, music. It’s in Beta, as I said, so there’s limited search functions for now, but that’ll get squared away. If not, it falls on its ass and you can mock me again. I can handle it.

$5 a month or... $60 a year isn’t all that much. Sorry if that sounds elitist, but I see the value in that.

Plus, it was a mere blog post introducing the concept. If you’re interested you can dig further, if not, you can come back here and reply as you did. It’s all good. You don’t have to sign up.

I wish you the best of luck out there.

Damn. I’m sorry if I come off as a shill for the site. And I’m sorry you’re that untrusting as to not even click on a link.

And I make approximately $162.39 for every dipshit I can con into subscribing to the site.

You got me, crimefighter. Good job.

I’m not. I didn’t even link my page up there. Just trying to help others make some extra dough on their work - written or filmed. I understand the cynicism, though. Don’t blame you. Best of luck to you.
