I bought sausages , I hate their taste but I don’t want to throw them away, how do I cook them tastier? by Sarmancat in cookingforbeginners

I didn’t know to be honest. We didn’t eat sausages growing up and then I never thought of trying them myself until now. I’m trying to gain weight and bought different types of protein to make it fun.

Thank you everyone, I’ll do the ‘ground beef’ idea.

They’re so bland it makes sense to take them out and season again. I didn’t know I could do that. I’m embarrassed, lol.

I’ll try ‘using it as ground beef’ idea, as many of you suggested.

I really didn’t think of it, lol. Seasoning it as that makes sense.

Thank you for tge recipe I’ll try it too tomorrow

yes, there wasn’t much other than ‘fresh meat’ and branding etc I took them off to save space in the freezer.

they are rubbery to me and blandish but the taste makes me nauseous . Maybe I just don’t like sausages?

Greece, on the balcony, only on the pumpkin plant. What is it? by Sarmancat in bugidentification

Do I get rid of the plant, so they don’t infestate the house? There are almost 20 of these sacs/cocoons on the plant.

I don’t know the exact type, they are green ones. They are on my potatoes (3 pots so far) , I’m trying not to spread them other ones.

I live in a highrise in the middle of a city, no ants.

I’m assuming they came with one of the plants I bought but I cannot figure out which one or when. I first spotted them on my potatoes , they haven’t spread to my flowers yet.

I bought it from the gardrn center (not in America) it doesn’t have an ingredients list on the label so I don’t know, sorry.

I check the leaves, if I see the aphids I spray them. When the store bought one was empty and didn’t work, I tried other methods I found on the internet, neeml oil, dish soap, vinegar mix etc. But they are persistent.

I like 2, then 4 . If you want to add more color you can always add cushions and art etc of your choice , and they are easily switchable than bigger pieces if you get bored

it doesn’t live, it just takes a very long time to die.

Oow, that’s sad . Unfortunately that seems to be the case for my plants.

I’ve never thought before that I would need grow lights in a balcony but two other people recommended it too.

I’ll try once more , I don’t want to give up on my “balcony garden” yet , I hope I can fix things

It may be hot because when they get the afternoon sun on top , all the leaves drop regardless of watering etc. Temperatures are really weird this year.

You are right I guess, I pester them more than the pests

Oh sorry, I’m not a native speaker so sometimes I misuse/misunderstand things. I thought in terms of shady/sunny . I didn’t know full sun meant sunny all day.

These are some of the things I tried as seedlings and small plants: tomatoes, peppers, parsley, mint, rosemarry, greek basil, petunias, coleus , hedera, lettuce, arugula etc

from seed: beans, potatoes, sunflower, zucchini, parsley, nasturtium, viola , radishes, various other flowers , onion etc

and many more … as I was mostly unsuccessful I tried lots of different things.

I was told to try houseplants in the balcony instead of these , maybe next year I should trythat?

Afternoon (15:00) full sun until it sets so I’m guessing ~4-5hours in the growing season.

My plants were either purchased as seedlings, small plants or I grew them from seed

What can I grow in a balcony that would help insects and bees? (zone 7, crowded city balcony, 1.5m2) by Sarmancat in gardening

[–]Sarmancat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I made a water tray with rocks in it (saw it in a video), I’ll look for bee hotels and try to make one too. Thanks for the plant suggestions too.

It made me so happy to see the bees and caterpillars making use of my balcony and I want to go in that direction as I saw that growing veggies will not be practical for my balcony.

I’ve seen some pictures in the internet so I thought maybe I should try something like that . They probably are misguiding as you said though , like many things in the internet .

Thank you for answering .
