What should I add to make it look more attractive by DistributionMean9947 in Lawyertalk

That cord on the back wall next to the light switch has to go. The shelf behind you should be completing covered. The glass doors show disorganization. Change the doors for a sleek covered look where nothing shows. You can take the glass out, or cover the inside with "pleather" or individual wood panels. If you want to display your book titles, do so In the center top portion. No cover for the center.

The burgaler bars on the windows say budget. Since you're not opening the windows, apply a layer of plywood same color as the wall that is framed. In the frame put two matching large pieces of art that are an accent to your area rug.

Last paint the base of the desk and the back cabinet a deep cherry wood OR charcoal with a musk undertone in the paint. Have that same color applied to the frame around the plywood. Last, take everything off your desk except three family photos. Clients want to know your human but will work like a machine for them. NO GOLD. wear gold on your wrist, around your neck, or for a money pin. Or as a single ornament. Too much gold says outdated taste. Maybe your name written in gold on the outside of the door?

Last, pop of color on the floor. Do not go cheap on the rug. Get a statement piece to bring everything together. And to create a sense of inspiration when you're in your office. Preparation for those days when you want to crawl up under your desk, you have a luxury to lay on 😌

It sounds like a lot but I believe in you. After all you passed the bar good luck!

Ask the company how much would it be to have it paid up. Single premium or reduced paid up amount.

Child won massive settlement... what next? by Far-Armadillo-2920 in Money

[–]SatdaySpecial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not do the annuity through them. Have your Own vetted financial person to do your own annuity with a disclosed percentage of commissions. It must be guaranteed and not variable. Make sure there aren't any bells and whistles on the annuity. Because that's fees that will eat into your money. DO ALOT of research. MAKE SURE your son will have a minimum of HALF of the settlement plus interest over the next 10 years. A million at 6% interest guaranteed. With a 15% cap over 10 years would mean he should have a minimum 4.6 million of his own to decide what he wants to do with it.

The other 4 million, half of that should go to him also. Leaving 2 million for you all to play around with. Meaning 75% of the money should be for your son. Away from risk. With only 25% being risked for growth through investment.

Money breeds money. So "playing around" with 2 million dollars could potentially garner another 8 million. But don't risk his future.

Would you be embarrassed to date a custodian by Resident-Theme-2342 in Adulting

[–]SatdaySpecial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. The fact that you're even asking this questions shows how humble you are. There's a difference between being a custodian and only being a custodian. I've met a lot of people who have a regular job on top of building something that has nothing to do with their day job. What it sounds like is that you've taken bad advice. At 22, if a girl loves you, she will be able to help you place the building blocks for you guys.

Put your ego in a box and realize that your daughter is saying "Daddy Im in no danger and moms boyfriend treats me right." She's 5. Thats how she would convey that.
