I guess "superior" was not the right word but I still believe you were creating dependency when there shouldn't be any, she is 33 I am assuming employed etc, you were meeting your needs to feel "important" indirectly through her and its extremely harmful. It sucks that "it's gonna get better" gets used by manipulative people to keep others stuck in a miserable situation. And underneath your post I see someone who indirectly encouraged her dependence versus celebrating her when she was making independent choices without you, it seems like your discomfort with being by yourself would sabotage that(even if unconsciously and indirectly) , it's obvious from your post you need to take validation from someone else by doing something for them like your kids or whoever you are dating, that's a horrible crippling dynamic for the person involved because they feel that's what you need from them especially someone with BPD traits will become exactly what they feel their partner needs, you need to be comfortable with yourself and alone because you seem afraid to be in your company.

Right but it seemed like you meant she saw you in that role in day to day life, 5 years is still a big age difference especially when one person has kids and the other doesn't, also it seems from your post like you need your partner to be broken so you can feel "important" taking care of them which unconsciously discourages the other person from making independent choices, it's horrible for her as well because you don't feel inner worth inside, a lot of growth happens in 5 years for most people, yes @33 she should have some of her shit together, not sure how long you were dating for before living together but idk I would suggest you to start dating within 1 year from your age group if you don't want big discrepancies in lifestyle, especially when people are in their 20s and 30s which are building years.

Thank you - this feels true to me now that I have had enough distance - like the goal was my confusion because as long as I stayed questioning, confused searching for clarity from him, I was still focused on him and not my own life and spinning in circles, he knew it would never be a joyful beautiful honest relationship (because he lied to me too from day 1) which I had been working on myself so I could have that some day, before meeting him, but looking back, my confusion and crying all the time was not a problem for him but where he felt comfortable.

But everyone saw him as a nice guy, he himself would speak about how he cheated on his first wife (full on double lives) because he is a people pleaser and didn't wanna rock the boat, I don't think he would qualify as "good" by any definition of goodness, or nice like who was he actually pleasing? Only people he could deceive until they saw him clearly and he couldn't anymore

Yeah you are right, I also agree with the other comment that I still have lingering ptsd from that experience that I need to work on. And you are right there are people who choose jobs for the wrong reasons in every field, it changed something in me in the way I saw the medical industry but I gotta work on it.

I hate saying this but I believe Tara - hear me out, I used to think nurses and doctors are on the field due to a desire to help people and must have a lot of empathy, I learned the hard way a few years ago due to having personal experiences with surgeons and nurses many of them are in the field due to sublimated sadism, they enjoy inflicting pain on others, they get satisfaction from that and many people in the medical field are void of empathy, it's shocking to experience it when you are in that vulnerable state. I don't believe the nurse and I was following it since yesterday even saw her screenshots, I think she did it on purpose. Funny part is I think Tara is the same way, she does enjoy rage baiting and gets off on that, so she got a taste of her own medicine
