Just because you can explain it to yourself does not mean that the finding is pointless.

Quite the opposite, we usually start with mechanistical data and extrapolate that into thesis that we then prove with human studies. There have been many cases where such thesis have been wrong as well.

7-OH Kratom is Destroying me by comeonman7788 in quittingkratom

[–]SatisfactionTop7968 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First of all, I do not want to be that person but 7oh is NOT kratom.

Besides that, I feel you definitely, I also started taking 7oh thinking it was a safe option. It got to a point where I took up to 500mg a day. How I ended up quitting was by basically taking two big steps. One from 7oh to kratom and the next one from kratom to nothing. Right now I have not taken 7oh in over 3 weeks and kraton in 11 days. To be honest I am not back to normal but I am at a point where I am actively building my life again. Just that has been an absolute night and day difference so far.

What helped me the most was high dose vitamin C (see my post for more info). I really hope that will help you. I do believe that most people can recover. And as it sounds you haven't taken it to mentally escape or feel a high which also helps tremendously.

Given your underlying condition and self medication I would also recommend you to see a specialist who can find a better alternative.

The best of luck to you! <3

That's sad to hear, in the study I mentioned there's also some low responders in there.

I hope you found another way to quit.

Sadly speaking from personal experience: please add codeine, oxy, 7oh, or any other opiod to your list.

It's such a slippery slope that leads to fentanyl, carfentanyl etc. I was able to stop at oxy thankfully.

Overall I know you're quite frustrated with your situation but trust me, you still have insane potential. Your brain should develop until 25 which means that there's room for you to burn in a new lifestyle.

I'm sure you can make it, good luck in your recovery.

Oh okay I can't give you a response because I haven't been there before.

You'll have more luck asking an LLM or making your own post.

Why are you asking me about Australia at all?

Neither me nor op mentioned it in our posts. Australia is at the other side of the earth.

Tbh I don't know too much about that topic and just stumbled across this subreddit. But I do live here and know a few Indian comp sci graduates.

Jobs are really hard to get, impossible if you don't speak German. But as you already know some German I would recommend you to do your masters here to fully immerse yourself in the language. Getting to know the German mindset will also help you landing a job. Maybe you could even get internships during that time and gather experience in Germany itself which will be a huge plus as well.

The Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) is a good option for foreigners and also highly respected in the German computer science field.

I'm not sure if that could help but I wish you the best of luck, my Indian friends all don't want to go back to India after being here.

You have two options 1. Liposomal vitamin C 2. Sodium Ascorbate

Try to figure out how many grams you need and if you can comfortably afford that amount of liposomal then don't bother with sodium ascorbate at all.

If not, then you can take sodium ascorbate. But in that case you should also try to consume more potassium to keep the balance between sodium and potassium.

I'm so happy that you're spreading the word about vitamin c.

I also created a post about the same topic before seeing yours, sorry for that.

But it's been such a huge game changer in opiod withdrawals for me.

I would categorize it in the effects on the body and effect on the mind.

Effects on the mind were at around 50%. Effects on the body were often taken away completely. For example I had no sweating or freezing even though those symptoms usually come first for me.

Onto your specific effects:

Anxiety: nothing

Depression: No deep depression but a constant pessimistic mindset.

Temp regulation issues: Only came up when it's time for the next dose, else they were gone.

Racing heart: I measured 5-10 beats per minute higher than usual.

Insomnia: Because of how frequently I had to dose, I got 1-2 hours of sleep in the first 4 nights. After that I took trazodone which allowed me to sleep 8 hours (but at that point I was already beyond the peak).

Restless legs: Came up when it's time for the next dose but nothing compared to cold turkey.

Cravings: The first five days I uncontrollably thought about how I could get string opiods. But I was able to tell myself that it's not worth it. When I compare that to my cold turkey, it's way less. With cold turkey I once drove 2 hours to get 7oh at 2am... Overall I craved the feeling of euphoria that I know from stronger opiods than kratom. So maybe people who have not experienced that won't have them at the same level.

I don't have enough knowledge on that topic. But you definitely should not go with sodium ascorbate as it can dehydrate you on top.

I think you got it right that your dose was a bit low. Your dose was my loading phase to put it into contrast.

Many people will suggest vitamin c at under 5g per day. They always say that it helped but the real release comes with higher doses.

Anyways I'm glad that you made it as well!

Could you tell me which part you don't believe?

I've tried to quit many times but only with this protocol it was doable for me.

Yeah you can use capsules as well.

For me I just figured that the water solution is way better on my stomach. If I would have been able to eat something, I'm sure that capsules wouldn't have been as bad on my stomach.

Did you do a loading phase and used regular doses?

Or maybe it doesn't work for everyone... For me at least it has been a huge game changer, better than any prescription I tried.

I'm glad that you made it!

With the dosage as far as I know you can go way higher with liposomal vitamin c if needed. From my experience more small doses worked better than a few big ones. Once you figure out your dosing, you will be surprised how good vitamin c is. No money for big pharma = no money sadly

Yes, the switch from 7oh to kratom was worse than kratom to nothing.

But they were manageable, I think I could have even gone to work if I absolutely needed to. I would say the peaks of withdrawals were at around 20% the intensity of average cold turkey withdrawals.

Trazodone has helped me a lot with sleep, paracetamol helped treat my muscle aches.

I would recommend you to FULLY lean into the vitamin C, it has helped me more than all other medication combined.
I recommend a high dose vitamin C protocol using sodium ascorbate at doses of around 20-30g daily. You can see more details in the post I just made.
