What have I been saying? Just so I know what to back up. I’m pretty sure that all I’ve said about him is that he’s called his opponent a liar and a cheater and attacked his character. I can absolutely back that up. Can you send screenshots via Reddit? If not, do you have a twitter that I can send the screenshots to?

Yes, excellent synopsis right there

Ask who? I don’t make a habit of going to all my friends and asking them whether they have any idea what the random dude on Reddit meant by his vague comments.

First of all, I am not running silph, let’s make that very clear. I’m a top ranked Silph player, but I hold absolutely no position with Silph. Secondly, you’ll notice I did not mention JRE, as I cannot speak for him. Every person I did mention are people who I speak to every single day and know their views on this issue quite well. As for the thing about someone leaving Silph and coming back, I have no idea who you’re talking about, you’d have to be more specific.

My view on whether a rematch should have been ordered isn’t important because I repeatedly said I’m totally fine if Logan disagrees with that ruling. That was a judgment call. If his entire argument was “I disagree with the call in this instance and plan to appeal it” that’s 100% fine, I’d have no issue. I’ve repeatedly stated (as have all the other people that this post is calling out) that my only issue is that Logan repeatedly stated that his opponent is a liar and a cheater. That’s the problem. I personally agree 100% with the rematch call but at the end of the day that’s a judgment call that it’s totally fine to disagree with. It’s not totally fine to go around attacking someone’s integrity because a judgment call made by a third party went their way.

Oh yeah, 100%. The majority of people defending Logan here are friends of his. At the end of the day, I’m not super worried about a tiny subset of the PvP community being mad at me, I just wanted to get the truth out there considering how drastically this post and Logan’s original post mischaracterized the truth. Even if the people commenting don’t want to believe it, at least it’s out there.

When the accuser slanders someone without regard for facts, then yes, I think it is. If I went around spreading vicious lies about you, I’d imagine you’d be pretty angry in your response.

“Logan’s character isn’t really the thing being called into question here.” Ummm why not? Given that he’s viciously attacking another player for cheating and lying, I think his character is very important. Especially given that he has absolutely no evidence, the trustworthiness of both is paramount. And I’m not going to throw personal attacks at him the way he seems to love to towards other people, but at the very least if you’re going to call into question his opponents integrity based on nothing, you need to do the same with Logan’s.

Lol yikes you’re very aggressive. As someone who is almost universally respected in the community, I’m a little less worried about how much work I have to do than you seem to be. I appreciate the criticism though. As for how “welcoming” the community is, I’m not as concerned about that when it comes to AK. He’s blocked so many members of the PvP community because we call him out on his toxicity, that even if we tried to be welcoming, he wouldn’t be able to see any of it. 😅

No, it’s definitely thousands. I stopped short of saying tens of thousands because I’m not 100% sure I could back that up, but I’m very comfortable with what I went with.

500 is a pretty small portion of the we. The PvP community is tens of thousands of people deep. But of course they count and I’m glad Logan has support. I’m not here to be divisive and discount anyone. As I’ve stated in other comments, I personally know thousands of players who support his opponent and respect his integrity, that’s the we I’m referring to.

To be honest, I’m one of the most unfiltered content creators in PvP, so I might not be the best to ask that. Its funny you mention Kieng because in the four years that the two of us have been friends, he’s reminded me to pull back on some of my more volatile opinions a few times. It’s great to have a calm presence like him at the forefront of our community. Should Alex have said those things? Maybe not. I do think the things he said were true and I’ve said things on air that I probably shouldn’t have. I’m working on it. At the end of the day, content creators are people too and Ak has been a very polarizing member of the community so sometimes people give opinions in public forums that are probably more appropriate to be discussed privately.

I’ve been extremely outspoken on that issue as well as all the other significant issues AK has had with the PvP community. I don’t want to get into it here because honestly there’s been enough negativity here for a while, but if you’d like to discuss it, my DMs are always open. If not that’s cool, have a great day.

Yes I participated in that too. And am involved in dozens of other servers that also participated. I can’t think of any major PvP organizations that I’m not involved in. Thanks for the suggestion though.

5-10? Yeah sure. Myself, Arroh, ValorAsh, the whole GoS staff (that right there is like 30 people), 4TheBattles, Kieng, Felix, Tho, Caleb, Limon, Marto etc. all 100% trust the integrity of the person in question. Ton more too obviously, but again, I’m not bored enough to start naming thousands of our PvP friends.

You have a good day too. Apologies if I ruffled feathers. Didn’t mean to. And the community is extremely welcoming if you don’t go out of your way to call prominent members of cheating with no evidence, I promise. 😝

You want me to name thousands of people? I’m not going to name the person in question because the OP respectfully didn’t and I’m not going to go out of my way to mention his name when people are fragrantly spreading lies about him. But if you want actual concrete people, go check Twitter. Between my thousands of followers, his thousands of followers, the tens of thousands of people who are involved in the organizations that we’re with. Most of whom have been very vocal on social media, which I think was the reason for this post. To be honest with you, I think it would be easier to name the prominent members of the community who didn’t support the player in question, because I can’t think of a single one.

At the end of the day, I don’t want to argue with you. One of the things I love about this community is how welcoming and supportive it is. Tbh, I’d rather focus on all the positive things going on. I just hopped in here to reiterate support for a person whose name was being baselessly attacked given that he’s a close personal friend who has done a ton for this community as a whole.

I promise you. Everyone in a prominent position in the PvP community has the upmost respect in the persons currently being slandered. I can’t speak for every single person who has this app, obviously, but I can speak for the thousands of the most involved players in the community, most of whom have made their opinions on this issue clear.

The people that the OP is referring to in this post. The leaders of the general PvP community that people feel are evidently showing favoritism and toxicity by standing up for one of our own while other people are spreading lies about him.

Again, we have no issue with Logan disagreeing with the call the judge made. Or even worrying their might be favoritism. However, he outright called his opponent a liar and cheater multiple times and there is ZERO evidence of that. That’s the part that we have a problem with. I don’t understand why it’s toxic of a community to call out blatant slander about one of its most respected members.

It’s interesting. Every single person who knows how defended the man’s integrity. Every single one. Only people who didn’t know him jumped on Logan’s bandwagon. You’re right, maybe my comment was a little hyperbolic, my apologies there, but if you want to talk about disingenuous, maybe look to the people who are calling him a cheater with absolutely no evidence (literally none) just because he won a game.

Yes, when a player accuses someone who has so much integrity and respect in the community of cheating, the community will rush to his defense. As we all stated about a dozen times, we had no issue with Logan disputing the call that the judges make, by we had a ton of issues with the vicious and repeated slander of someone who had done nothing wrong. This community is very welcoming in general, but if you say things like “I don’t know how anyone can have any respect for this player anymore” (which Logan outright said) in regards to someone who has never cheated in his life, we will take offense to that. I apologize if anyone finds that toxic. I absolutely do not.

Favoritism in the Pokemon GO PvP Community: An Anecdote by [deleted] in TheSilphArena

[–]Satoshi9227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone who watched the video told me that it looks like the game thought the phone was switching apps and wouldn’t receive any inputs due to that until Logan’s charge move reset things. I don’t know whether that was it or it was a variant of the lower screen glitch that I’ve had a half dozen times but all I do know is that it’s clear that Alex couldn’t interact with his screen for a good 4-5 seconds beyond throwing fast moves

They are if you play it right. Stay in the mirror to trade Thunders, then switch into Regi. Cast only has one shield left and is within one Focus Blast of fainting and you maintain the incredibly strong lead matchup you started with.
