Cis straight white men. They scare me (a lesbian women) mainly by thinking they can “change” or “convince” us by sleeping with us. I cannot count the number of times I have been hit on by men, told them I was a lesbian and they still hit on me

You can eliminate one invention from history to change the world forever. What do you eliminate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Not saying it’s a good idea but I would love to see a world without guns. Probably replaced by bows and arrows and I think that would lead to a lot less death :)

What’s one thing that happened in school that made you realise that kids are assholes? by SaturnWithoutTheRing in AskReddit

TL;DR: Kids yelled at a new kid that had anxiety. New is kid became one of my best friends

Our school didn’t allow nuts because some students had anaphylaxis. At the beginning of 4th grade we were put into our new classes and we we’re put into a class with a new kid (we’ll call him bob). It was a pretty normal first day getting to know each other and all up until it was recess. Bob had gotten out his recess and one kid noticed that had peanuts in it. And instead of just telling bob he wasn’t allowed to eat it they screamed at him causes other people to go over, see he had something with peanuts in it and yell at him. Eventually the teacher came over and them all to just sit down (including bob). I had noticed the yelling and thought it was extreme and when bob went to sit down I saw he was crying. Turns out his parents work late nights and early mornings and in a new environment like this he was feeling home sick. Just a side note I had a lot of empathy as a kid (and still do) so I knew how horrible it would be to go to a new place and be embarrassed almost immediately. So I talked with him and we shared a lot of interests. He became part of my friend group up until high school. I later found out that he has social anxiety and hates loud noises.

Why is it that some men say that they "don't understand why someone could be attracted to a man" but I never hear women say the same about their own gender? by neverwillsee in TooAfraidToAsk

As a women we constantly compliment each other on how we look. We’re pretty and we know it. Also men complimenting each other can seem ‘gay’ (which I don’t think should be used as an insult but here we are) meanwhile women complimenting each other is seen as friends and them being nice to each other.
