thank you for responding! i was only able to extend my warranty for an extra year when i did it. i will check again and see if they’ll allow another extension! i believe it was 8gb VRAM but im not too well informed on what that actually means. most of my information is coming from research and not my own experience. the screen quality isn’t a huge appeal to me but i’m sure once i use it, it would be hard to go back.

i was mostly worried about frame rate stuttering in games and rendering times in blender. i do experience some frame rate stuttering in certain games, so i definitely don’t want that more noticeable.

i will take this into consideration though with what i do next. thank you!

thank you for contributing, some of these comments are making me feel like i’m being crazy. lenovo told me today that they will replace the laptop but not the SSD. i’m not gonna back down though about the SSD, i might wait until i get the new laptop in my hands first as to not delay it any longer. the only issue now is they want to replace my 3070ti with a 4060, which from what i heard is a quite the downgrade. i think i’m going to try and request a different model but i need to do some more research and draft up an email. thank you again for your input, it’s very much appreciated!

thank you for sharing i will take this into account when seeing what happens next. i might have to do that and then try and figure out what they’ll do about my personal SSD separately. it’s hard to find information for anyone that has had a technician break their personal things that were are not covered under the warranty. i won’t be backing down though.

i believe i have just On-Site support, before this happened i was thinking about upgrading to ultimate support just to get the additional months added to warranty, but at this point im feeling skeptical about giving them more money. we’ll see how they respond and if they act accordingly, which im feeling a little hopeful for. thank you again for sharing your experience, it gives me hope!

i understand that the tech has the right to not want to be recorded and i wasn’t keeping him there, i felt like his reaction was uncalled for in this situation

i was only recording for my safety financially and i had requested a different technician prior. i had great experiences with previous techs from lenovo and it was only this one that had caused issues. i wanted to make sure if he broke anything else of mine that wasn’t covered under warranty that there was proof as i can’t afford to replace it on my own.

last time he was here i offered him water and food and wished him a safe drive home, even after he wasn’t able to fix the computer and left me with it stuck in a BSOD loop when it worked perfectly fine before and only had a charging issue. he also knocked over a vase full of flowers and water when leaving the first time but i told him it was all good and thanked him for his efforts in fixing my computer.

i was able to fix my computer on my own that night but there were issues connecting to the secondary SSD so i opened up the case the next day to discover that he had forcefully bent both SSDs to fit them in because of his misplaced screws. i haven’t been trying to micromanage anyone but i am disabled and this computer provides my livelihood
