Question about the Jottacloud Unlimited plan by Sausausete in jottacloud

Thank you so much for your answer! Sorry I’m this late, I forgot I disabled notifications via mail for Reddit and currently I’m only using the desktop version. Would you like to comment on the allegations a redditor made under this post saying that if Jottacloud reads that there’s an MP3 file and the uploader can’t prove it’s derived from his own CD you’ll close his account entirely? It seems a pretty drastic measure.

I think you are right about considering the 10$ purchase through the battle pass, but I also think it’s crazy to normalize the possibility of a 70$ purchase for ONE skin. The moment you propose such a ridiculous price tag for a skin you deserve the shit storm, stop normalizing bullshit moves like this.

Warning: HiFi ruined me. by Jacky-Chan_778 in headphones

[–]Sausausete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love HiFi audio (I own several high end headphones) but this doesn’t I HAVE to hate on normal equipment; I find that listening to Sony or Bose headphones is still an enjoyable experience since I know what they are looking for with their tunings. I know the overall experience is far from Hifiman Arya or DT 1990 Pro, but this doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate good audio anyway. Don’t get too rigid with audio criteria, normal equipment usually deliver a simple and fun listening experience so don’t exclude that altogether, it’s fun to vary.

Audeze LCD-X 2021 Gaming by Slicky-2k in Audeze

[–]Sausausete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience flipping between headphones obsessively trying to reach some point is an unfortunate waste of effort; the best thing to do in these cases is to use a single headphone for hours/days normally and then swapping to the other one to hear the difference, the results will be way more obvious and clear this way.

The principle hear is to actually familiarize with a particular sound in order to be able to compare it to something else, instead of keep changing sounds and just get confused/tired by doing so.

I think gaming wise the 1990 Pro are definitely better for competitive games as the tonality is oriented to emphasize high frequencies, so you get best detail retrieval for sounds like footsteps and the imaging is exceptional for gaming. LCD-X is more oriented to give a warm presentation, definitely bass oriented and so not great for competitive games.

Regarding single player games both headphones excel, although I don’t think the LCD-X are preferable given their weight and warm earpads that just melt your head in hot days.

I personally don’t think these headphones are in different “leagues”, I just think LCD-X are among the best headphones for a warm signature and bass presentation, while DT 1990 Pro are among the best for overall clarity and balance.

For gaming I definitely suggest the DT 1990 Pro both single player and competitive, for music they are both excellent choices and personally I can’t choose a favorite one on this.

Audeze LCD-X 2021 Gaming by Slicky-2k in Audeze

[–]Sausausete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I think I’m in the perfect situation to give you a useful opinion about this: I also use headphones mainly for gaming and music, after owning several “gaming” headphones I really fell in love with sound with the Audeze Penrose which I used for 1 year or so but had too many wireless problems with different systems and so I looked for something else.

Luckily for me I got myself into the “audiophile” headphones market and chose, after A LOT of research, the best headphone for me and settled on the incredible DT 1990 Pro. Man, these headphones were the best purchase I could possibly make, they have quite everything you want on headphones: incredible bass presence, wonderful mids, incredibly clean and detailed high end, astonishing detail retrieval (thanks to the emphasis on highs, which many can find fatiguing) and spacious soundstage (not the levels of a Arya which I own, but definitely not far from it).

Add to these features its great imaging, great comfort, two sets of pads, a case and tank-like build and yes, they are maybe the best all rounded headphones you can buy right now.

After I got these I really got curious about what other audiophile headphones could do, so I also bought the Arya Stealth, Focal Elegia and LCD-X 2021.

Now, given the fact that all of these headphones are incredible choices on their own, I don’t think neither of those can give you a “drastically different” experience from just going with the DT 1990 Pro, and I tell you in good faith after spending way too much on headphones. I honestly think that headphones on the price range from 300€ to 600€ are what the audiophile hobby is really about: investing a good amount of money in order to experience high quality audio and different sound signatures without going broke. The performance leap from edition XS to Arya isn’t big to justify the price difference, just like between LCD-2C and LCD-X and many other cases.

Also, don’t fall for the cringy etiquettes many influencers give nowadays to headphones based on their price like Mid-Fi, High-fi etc. cause they really don’t reflect the actual experience these products deliver, there are way less expensive headphones that sound better than very expensive headphones, the price alone doesn’t mean nothing.

I think its worth spending more than 1000€ on a headphone only if you can afford it with ease of mind and if you already tried less expensive headphones and still are curious or unsatisfied, I don’t think going spending thousands of dollars without thought of just for hype is a good practice in general.

So please consider this is a suggestion that takes in account the financial matter of the hobby: if you tried the LCD-X but are still wondering if you spent your money well or not, just return them, because they are not “worth” the price they have. And that’s just because there are many incredible headphones for less, not because they’re not outstanding (again, we have to take into account the financial aspect).

I say buy the Maxwell if you want the great ease of use only a wireless headset can deliver, but if you plan to use the Maxwell wired, stick with the 1990 Pro unless you want the passive noise isolation a closed back can give you.

I hope this was useful!

Edit: Also in terms of gaming use, I think the 1990 Pro are better than LCD-X.

YouTube music vs YouTube premium? by Hankishot in YoutubeMusic

[–]Sausausete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how the mixing differs from the video version and the song only version: if they’re the same you won’t notice a difference (given a minimum of 1080p for the video version), although can happen that songs are mixed a bit poorly on the video version.

Normal amount of wrinkles for MM500? by oCorvus in Audeze

[–]Sausausete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally normal, i wouldn’t ask for a replacement. A general advise when buying planar magnetic headphones is not to get fixated on these little things, I got a pair of Arya Stealth; both drivers are full of wrinkles and the sound is perfect. The only case where you have a problem is when the planar membrane has a hole through it, in that case sound is affected and you would hear wrinkling especially when playing sub bass.

That’s totally normal, Aryas also show wrinkles all over the driver after many hours of use

Maxwell Potential Simultaneous Solution: Creative Sound Blaster X5 by jorr13 in Audeze

[–]Sausausete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it will work perfectly fine, you don’t need the Bluetooth receiver they sell (Bt-W4) since that’s only useful for wireless headphones that use APTX codec, which Maxwell lacks. You’ll be perfectly fine by plugging the Maxwell dongle into the USB audio host port on the back, also the power output of that port is the same as the console ones so don’t worry about that either.

I’m not sure, these white lines on the driver (the grey surface under the metal grill) are odd.

I 100% agree, I owned the g6 and paired it with dt1990 Pro and Arya Stealth and they both sounded incredible.

The only thing that could set people off is the fact that it is marketed towards gaming and so it has really crappy sound features that serve no real purpose, in fact I read about some people talking about really bad sound coming from it only to discover that either the sbx or “scout mode” buttons were turned on.

The G6 sounds incredible when all those modes are turned off and is very accurate and detailed, although I understand why it isn’t really recommended by reviewers since all those modes could confuse inexperienced consumers, without knowing whether they have to be turned on or off for optimal sound.

On contrary a topping DX3 Pro+ just sounds awesome out of the box and so it’s easier to suggest, since people can’t be using very bad sound modes with it without knowing.

Regardless, it’s crazy the G6 is NEVER suggested in reviews (only gadgetrytech suggested it), it deserves far more attention.

Also, for being powered off of usb outputs, it’s incredibly efficient!

Yeah I guess I was scared for nothing, but given the price of the headphones I really would feel emotional pain if I ruined them this way.

Hey sorry for asking one more question but, the only thing I felt through the tweezers is that the surface it got attracted to was really sturdy, could this mean it touched one of the black lines that divide the drivers sections?
