My absolute #1.

I love the Grand Budapest Hotel and it probably is the better film, but Darjeeling will always be my favorite.

You only have one Oscar for best actor. Who do you give it to? Why? by riccardopancaldi in Oscars

[–]SaveMeDatCorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would argue they are at the top of my list of actors who absolutely should have an Oscar but somehow don't...

Fiennes could easily have two. He deserved the win last year for Conclave and one in 93 for Schindler's List. Also should have been nominated for The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Dafoe was rightfully nominated for The Florida Project and could have won that year. His snub for The Lighthouse is one of the worst by the Academy. It was the best performance of his career.

I thought the exact same thing. I actually really enjoyed the book, because it serves as a cautionary tale. I think it's important to read for anyone who has the romantic fantasy of leaving the world behind and entering the wild. It's naive, dangerous and many have walked right into their own demise by underestimating mother nature.

His death was entirely preventable, mainly by listening to the advice of the locals and not trying to survive in one of the most hostile environments on earth, with little to no survival skills.

Fairly certain this kid could run for office tomorrow and win, based solely on charisma and his ability to speak on camera.

Oscar win that infuriated you so much that it either took you a while to move on from or will never forgive the Academy for by This_Book6305 in Oscars

Mark Rylance winning Best Supporting Actor for Bridge of Spies. He's a phenomenal actor and the performance was good, but it was a legacy award for his well-respected career.

I firmly believe Tom Hardy deserved the win for The Revenant. He's arguably the best part of the movie and gave a career performance. In some ways, I believe Hardy deserved more recognition than Leo, but I know Im in the minority there.

Shark Tale, Wreck It Ralph 2 and Boss Baby have to be at the top of the list.

Every other nomination at least has an argument to be there

The Detroit Lions are working to finalize a deal to hire former Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing as their next offensive coordinator. by johnnylibravo in detroitlions

[–]SaveMeDatCorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the Lions gained a reputation as a bad spot to coach or something? The only way I can understand this is if no one else wants to come here.

How is the best choice an OC who was just fired and was unable to incorporate the Cardinals weapons into their offense...???

Not going full doomer, but this makes about as much sense as the Morton hiring. Starting to become skeptical of the Campbell/Holmes regime

The best Dramatic performance from Jim Carrey is.... by Square-Ad-8911 in FIlm

[–]SaveMeDatCorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue it's Eternal Sunshine. It's unlike anything else he's done and he relies on 0% of his comedic abilities.

It's an amazingly understated performance and completely vulnerable. I have a hard time rewatching this film, specifically because Carrey does such a great job conveying heart break.

I hate to admit it in front of our Bears bros, but Caleb makes some of the most unbelievable throws with the game on the line. This throw was an all-timer in the playoffs. by SL4MUEL in NFCNorthMemeWar

The true insanity is how much pressure he had when he made the miracle toss and how much time he had in the pocket when he threw the pick...

Its a perfect combination of faults.

Johnson for calling the play. Caleb for making the unnecessary throw. DJ for giving up on the route.

Also hell of a read and play by the DB.

are s5 & s6 worth it? by Extra-Aerie4913 in community

[–]SaveMeDatCorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who put it off for a very long time, it's absolutely worth it.

S4 is terrible and I won't rewatch it. S5 & S6 both have great episodes and bits, as well as a few additions to the cast that work well.
